Bio and Links
Bio Photo Hi. My name is John Higgins Van Horn. I currently live in Carson City, Nevada, however, I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California.

I come from many old American families, some dating back to the early 1600's. My most recent ancestor that immigrated to this country was my fathers mother, Grace Harriet Mackey, in the early 1900's. I love my ancestors and have had a hoot researching them and learning about them and I very much enjoy this website. I like the simplicity and the ability to connect family members.

Please contact me if you have any questions.

Please review what is written here.

I think you might be able to throw some light on
these folks, who appear to be associated with your people.

William's great granddaughter needs help sorting out her family.

Re Lyman T Gunn's Tombstone
Hey there, Actually, most of the Gunn family tombstones are missing with the exception of Lyman C. Gunn, Sallie Boyd Gunn and their son Ellis Morehead Gunn. We were at City Cemetery yesterday and the Gunn memorial marks that section for the Gunn Family. I've been in touch with the Cemetery Association to find out more about which unmarked plots belong to who and they said there is a project going on right now by the Tennessee Public Library to transcribe all of the cemetery records into a searchable database. That will include everyone, not just those people who have markers still in existence!

Hello John, I found a Sarah A VanHorn but the dates on her headstone don't match what you have a her memorial page. I also found Ann S VanHorn and her year of death match but her year of birth don't match, how ever it is very close. I must also let you know, there is allot of VanHorn's in the Dunmore Cemetery and they are all close together. I took pics of all of them. The one I posted on Sarah's page is the main family maker.
