|I am new to Find A Grave, but have been researching my family for over 30 years. It started with family stories and has led to making contacts with relatives I didn't know existed. I think this is a great way to honor your ancestors and bring families together. I love history and am entering data for the cemeteries that I have information on. |
If any of the people I have entered are your relatives, contact me using the edit link and tell me how you are related and I will transfer management to you.
My family comes mostly from Pennsylvania and Maryland. Surnames from my family include: Arrington, Bonebrake, Carson, Cerfass, Cearfoss, Hipsley, Hobbs, Kendall, Parlett, Sehman, Venrick, and Zerfass.
Another project that I am working on is identifying the burial place of those who do not have grave markers in the county that I live in. The families should know where their loved ones are buried.

|Sue||Ann Denman Townsend|
Could you add the following to the Ann Denman Townsend memorial # 91542485, thank you!
Mrs. Ann Denman Townsend died at the home of her son-in-law. F. H. Brundage, in Malta, on Monday morning, at the remarkable age of 93 years. Ann Denman was a daughter of William Denman who was born in Ditchling, Sussex county, England, and of Ann Boorman, who was born in Sheldom, Kent county, England. They emigrated to America and became residents of Neversink, Sullivan county, N. Y., where they made their home until their death. The daughter, Ann, was born in Sullivan county, August 15, 1809. She was married to Stephen Townsend, who was born in Neversink, June 30, 1807. They came to DeKalb county with their children and with Mr. Townsend’s parents, Joshua and Phebe Porter-Townsend, in 1840, and were among the first settlers here.
To Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Townsend were born ten children. Four died in their youth. Eleanor, wife of Luther Jackman, resides in Whatcom, Wash.; Amos W., father of Ex-Mayor F. B. Townsend, of Sycamore, died in 1887; Nancy, wife of Orrin West, resides at Waverly, IA; Katie B., wife of F. H. Brundage, of Malta, died in 1869; W. H. and Hattie E., are residents of Sycamore. Mrs. Ann Townsend lived a life of good deeds and usefulness. No mother, with the means at hand, could have taken better care of her children. She was efficient and helpful until after she was 80 years of age. Her greatest pleasure and comfort were the pleasure and comfort of others.
For many years, Mrs. Townsend had made her home most of the time in Sycamore with her son, William, and daughter, Hattie.
The funeral services will be conducted by Rev. B. M. Southgate, pastor of the Sycamore Congregational church, at the Wesleyan church in Mayfield on this Wednesday afternoon at 1 o’clock and the remains will be interred in the Mayfield cemetery.

Find A Grave # 143255131 is of interest to me. I have researched the Derricotte family and I find a Aromenta Derricote age 7 in the 1900 GA Census with parents Sherman & Janie Derricote. I believe this is the same person who married Robert Shanks. However her mother on Find A Grave is listed as Lena Parks. Do you know if LENA and JANIE are one in the same person? Gwen # 47774201
I am researching my family tree and hit a road block. Going through interviews of my grandmother she stated that my grandfather was adopted by my great grandfather and that my great grandmother had him with a man name Samuel Cearfoss from Menominee MI. I am having a hard time finding my grandfathers birth records. Do you know if there were any family stories that Samuel had another son previous to Behrendt? It would have been with a woman name Leona DePauw. All the records I find for my grandfather as a boy he is listed as Harry Depauw. Eventually he was adopted. Family stories were that Sam was his father but the two were never married. If Sam is his father that really changes the direction of my search! Which looks like you have already done a great deal with your ancestry. Any skeletons that you know of?

Yes and thank you. Now I have something more to go on and to investigate, of course it is possible that this is not the same person, but it appears to be.
|Robert Morris||Pauline E. Horton Bezvoda|
You are shown as adding the record for "Pauline E. Horton Bezvoda" on Apr 2, 2011, find a grave memorial # 67783627.
I have been searching for anything on my Grand Aunt: Dora Pauline Horton and this person may be her. I am wondering about the information/record you made and without a stone. Perhaps the E. you show for Pauline should have been a D. for Dora? I would love to know about whatever means you found to make this record. I know very little about my Aunt, but this record appears to mostly fit. This is what I have on my Aunt: bp. 1895 Virginia.
Father John Madison Horton,b.1850 N.C, mother Nancy Ann Roberts, b.1866 N.C.
My aunt was referred to as PAULINE STOKER of Baltimore Maryland in her sisters obit of 1961.
So if nothing else at all, please tell me about the information you used to make this memorial.
