|Pamela Moore||Memorial #67164731: Mary "Polly" Taylor Smith|
A few more tidbits on Mary. According to the 1850 census, she was 14 years old, putting her date of birth as 1836.
In 1900, she is living in Pike County, KY, Magisterial District No. 7, dwelling 251, family 258. Her daughter, Sarah Nichols and son-in-law, Elias Nichols, were living with her with their four children.
Mary claimed a birthdate of Oct 1836 and she was a widow.
My great grandfather, Mont Smith, was committed in 1938 toEastern State Hospital in Lexington, KY for mental illness. As part of the intake, they did a thorough review of family history and mental illness. Mont's wife said that Mary had some mental illness and was taken care of at home. I imagine that means toward the end of her life. It was noted in Mont's chart that Mary, his mother died at age 68. This would be about 1904 given her birthdate of 1836.
I thought you could use this to update Mary's memorial. I'd be happy to send you the page from her son's medical chart, if you so wish. I just can't attach it here as there is no means to do so.

|Patrick Tucker||Charles and Audrey Tucker|
I am son of Ronald Dean Tucker and I am researching the Tucker family. I have a tree on Ancestry, Tucker Family Tree. I have a few pictures of the tuckers and will share. If you could provide any information regarding Charles' parents, I would be very appreciative.
Thank you in advance.

I have done enough reading of sources to fige out that Mary Davis is the correct person for his wife

Your write up on John Wright states two different births: 4 Jan 1717 Nottingham, Chester, PA and 4 Nov 1716 East Nottingham, Chester, PA.
The actual birth record from New Garden MM, Chester, PA is 4 Eleventh 1716. Be careful about transcribing Quaker dates. The first month was March so the Eleventh month is JANUAURY. (U.S., Quaker Meeting Records, 1681-1935, Pennsylvania Chester, New Garden Monthly Meeting Minutes, 1746-1768, p. 33, Ancestry).
His death date is a (ante) 7 June 1790 according to his Will. (Will dated 17 Sep 1789; probate 7 Jun 1790)
SC Wills & Probate Rec., 1670-1980, Newberry, Vol 1:54, Ancestry.
We don't know that this John Wright was the one who was at the first and second Provincial Congress of SC. That John Wright lived in Berkeley Co, SC and represented St. James, Goose Creek, Charleston District, SC in 1775 http://www.carolana.com/SC/Revolution/sc_revolution_1st_provincial_congress_members.html. He appears to be John C Wright, a physician whose Will was probated 19 Jan 1784 in Charleston.
South Carolina, Wills and Probate Records, 1670-1980, Charleston Letters of Administration, Vol Oo:322, 1775-1785, Ancestry.
NSDAR has not recognized this Provincial Congress service for the John Wright who married Rachel Wells. This John Wright was attributed patriot service for supplying provisions to the army in the Ninety Sixth District which was Newberry.
I am still researching Rachel Wells but she died in 1771 at the age of 52 (U.S., Quaker Meeting Records, 1681-1935, South Carolina, Newberry, Bush River Monthly Meeting Records-Marriages, Vol 02:2, 1797-1807, Rachel Wells Wright, Ancestry) so her birth date would be closer to c1719. My research so far indicates that her parents (Joseph and Margaret were married in All Hallows Episcopal Church)were converted to the Quaker religion in NC, so Rachel's birth was probably not Quaker.

And Thank you!!!!!!!!!! I want so badly to get the people together in the right cemetery. The only guidelines we have are the Johnson County Historical Society's published lists online and in books. It'll take time, but I'm working!!!!
Thanks again for your help.
|Dana Meeks||Thank You|
