Retired bean counter now tracking ancestors instead of numbers. Mother of three and grandmother of five fascinating grandchildren. Married to the same man for 50+ years.|
Knew the names and cemeteries of all my grandparents and Ggrandparents before I could write. On one family trip we stopped at the Steekee Cemetery in Loudon,Tn. I transcribbed stones because my mother was so excited she couldn't write. Now 50+ years later I still use those notes!

|Sharman ||RE: Williams family:|
Are all of your Williams members related to each other? George Washington Williams is my 4th great grandfather. Thank you for the photographs.

I cannot seem to find Clyde Williams. Everywhere I look, there is a fee. I live in AL. Is there any other way that I might be able to make contact with him? Do you know his middle name, or his age? He could send me a public message on Find A Grave if he is a member. He probably has some answers for me.
Thanks for any help,

Do you have any other information about G. W. Williams whose memorial you maintain in TX? (Spouse Nancy)I am trying to find out if he was a brother to my great, great grandmother Jane Williams Scott. She had a brother by the same name. Her father was Stephen Williams who is buried at Tremont Cemetery in Tremont, MS. There are two young Williams children buried there also. Their markers list their parents as G.W. and N. Williams. Thanks for any information that you might have.

You are so welcome!!! I have seen the Family Maker forever but never really got close to it until this month when I was photographing the section it is in. That is when I saw the memorial to Corp. Murphy and was inspired to look for him so that I could connect him with his family. I was so honored. Thank you, Virginia

Hi, Mary, I looked at the pictures and the young one looks so much like the old one, it sure looks like him, I know very little about the military and I got these photos probably from Ancestry.com. I do not know the family; they are more distant relatives. If you think I should remove the young one, I will. Look at them again, and if you're convinced, message me again and I'll remove it.

I am sorry to report that I am not a relative. I am a researcher working for the East Tn History Center to locate the graves of Civil War soldiers from East Tn. The bad news is I do not retain source documents for soldiers found BUT buried outside of the state. The good news is if I left flowers it means that I found enough evidence to believe he served from E. Tn. You might find him listed in Fold 3 or the National Parks service maintain a list you might also find him on and then you could order his service record from the government to determine his movement during the war
