I am new to genealogy and have mainly been researching the Adkins-Sykes family of Johnson Co. Arkansas and the May family of Pike Co. Arkansas.

Levander and Nancy Sykes
Well it's been a LONG time coming, almost 5 years of waiting for you and two years of searching for me but today I finally found Levander and Nancy Sykes. Super satisfying. Thanks! Tony

RE: Lillie Marie Sykes
I checked the census. They lived just over the Franklin County Line. It looks as it was listed wrong in the cemetery book. Should have been J O instead of Joe, I believe you are right!

Eva Adkins vs Charity Evalin Beckman
The two pictures of headstones for the wife of Ezra Adkins, name Eva on the stone are the same stone.

Ezra was married on twice. Charity Eveline Beckman, his second wife, was known as Eva.

RE: Adkins Graves in Harmony Cemetary
You are so welcome Camellia! My 2nd great grandmother Eliza and her infant son died during childbirth on 24 Dec 1888. I live in Brandon, MS, and I was in Arkansas and Oklahoma this weekend trying to find some family. Eliza in AR and her parents in OK. No luck for me. But glad to have helped you. =) Take care!

Abraham Adkins
If you believe that he is the father of the one you mentioned, I have no objection to your making a family link for them.

RE: Abraham and Mary Whitehead Adkins

The information I was using is on Family Tree Maker's Genealogy Site and whoever put that up states that both Abraham and Mary died in Johnson County, Tennessee, not Arkansas. That's why I put it that way. If you can find additional contrary information, I will be glad to either add or change the site. They were the parents of a couple of people buried in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas, Texas where I live. I have been going through those records and trying to find family members and came across Abraham and Mary Adkins.

Since they owned a care dealership and flower shop, i will start asking those who still live there in Clarksville, if they can find something.

My aunt says I am like a pit-bull with a bone. I just keep hanging on until I find what I need.

My Aunt told me that Lydia Ray lived with my grandfather's brother Eli and Pearl Bailey.
They were living in the house on Wise rd. They were taking care of Ralph Skyes, Jr. He was confined to a wheelchair. While they were living there, a tornado lifted the house off it's founation, and set it down next to the foundation. Mr. Skyes, Jr. was found down the road still in his wheelchair. Lydia Ray remained friends with my Aunt Pearl until her passing.

just a little story my Aunt told me of Mr. Skyes, Jr. She knew him and said he was the most kind and gentle person.

I am sorry I didn't have time to find the markers of Carolyn. It will be a year before I can go back to Clarksville. But I will not give up.
