Bio and Links
Bio Photo I love the history, the architecture, the beauty, and mostly the serenity of a cemetery, especially Hollywood Forever where I've been visiting for 32 years. I enjoy fulfilling photo requests at this cemetery the most. Currently Hollywood Forever has over 89,000 graves; their email address is

I'm retired due to a disability and spend much of my time at Hollywood Forever. I've had a lot of enjoyment photographing graves and folks seem to like my photos. It makes me feel useful! I claim many photo requests as I check the site several times a day. If you'd like to fulfill a particular request that I've claimed, just send me a public message and I'd be happy to unclaim it.

I am an amateur photographer, not a genealogist, so please don't lecture me about my lack of commitment to your hobby. You do your thing and I will do mine and it will be a happy happy sunshine world!

I've been seeing more and more requests for photos without any grave location information. Trust me, cemetery offices are much more likely to cheerfully provide family members with grave locations than photo volunteers, especially those of us they see often. Some cemeteries won't provide grave locations to photo volunteers.

Please allow any cemetery enough time to respond to a location request. Realistically, finding grave locations is not a priority in the day to day operation of an active cemetery. And remember, it always helps to be nice!

Velma Yawitz - died 1940 (Aug 2)
Hi there,
When you get a chance, would you see if Velma ashes are resting at Hollywood Forever? She was cremated there but not sure about the ashes. She was the wife of screen writer Paul Velma Yawitz.
Thanks!!! (So glad it has cooled off a bit!)

RE: Hollywood Forever
He was unarked. The groundsmen found it for me.

RE: Hollywood Forever
I walked the entire section. Could not find. Then I got home and realized by some of the Temp markers I shot that they may be in the upright section. Could not find either. James

Hollywood Forever
Jim, I tried to find these two today to no avail. Here are their locations.

Rose Ostrow, Section 13, Lot 203, Grave 3

May Moran, Section 13, Lot 120, Grave 10

Let me know if you find them.

Hugs, James

Never mind the Pasadena cemetery question. He was cremated there and shipped out of state.

Martha is now linked to her mother.

Can you tell me which cemeteries are located near south Pasadena? I want to call to try and locate the gravesite for someone who died there in 1950.
