As much as I try to prove or disprove information, I can not guarantee that information provided for memorials is correct. Meaning this information is not usable as a primary source. Photos can be considered as a primary source.
FYI: 1900 Census is NOT an accurate source for birth dates! Their use in cemetery records will mislead people.

|Von Rothenberger||RE: John Valentine Fritts|
From his death notice. He died at Plainville, Rooks County, Kansas.
Osborne County Farmer newspaper
March 27, 1924
“Another of the pioneers of this part of Kansas has passed to his reward. Captain John Fritts, aged 84, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Naomi McReynolds, at Plainville March 14. For many years the family lived near Luray, Captain Fritts having homesteaded government land in that neighborhood in 1870. He helped organize Russell County and in 1873 was elected representative of the legislature, the same session when Calvin Reasoner represented Osborne County, and was the first teacher in the Luray school district, which he helped to organize. He was twice married and leaves eight children. During the Civil War Captain Fritts commanded Company E, 5th Ohio Cavalry, and was with General Sherman in the famous march to the sea.”

My name is Phylis Bailey. I would like to thank you for creating this memorial for Frank. I was married to Frank and together we had one son who is still living. I would be so grateful if you would consider me managing his memorial? It would mean so much to my son and I.
