Request for transfer
In my newness to Find-a-Grave, I created a memorial page for my mother. In trying to learn more about the various functions and editing tools of the site, I discovered you had already created a page. Will you transfer this page #61576217 to me, please? Thank you so very much!

63475335, Lois Rountree Garretson
While tracking the descendants of Mamie Ola Hollis and David Walter Roper, I discovered a previous marriage for D. W. Roper to "Ida". One of their children was Lois Roper, born abt 1907, in Texas, per census records of 1910 and 1920. I found a marriage record for Lois Roper and Gilbert Garretson (13 May 1923, Titus Co., TX) in Texas County Marriage Records, 1837-1965 (FamilySearch database). I then found Gilbert H. Garretson and Lois in 1930 Titus Co. census and in 1940 Winfield, Titus Co. census. I thought I had found her Find A Grave Record (referenced), but this record shows her maiden name as Rountree. So either the maiden name is incorrect on the Find A Grave record, or it's not the Lois Roper I'm trying to find. The birth date of 22 Sep 1906 makes sense. Do you have a source for the maiden name on the Find A Grave record? Would appreciate the help.

Thanks for the transfer. I appreciate it. I went ahead and reposted the obituary, but left out survivors.

Ryan Barrett Reynolds grave marker
Thank you for posting picture of Ryan's grave marker. Ryan was my first nephew. He was born in 1982, a full term baby boy who was much wanted and much loved, the son of my older brother, Richard. Ryan was born with many medical problems; premature lungs, heart on the wrong side, esophagus not attached to his stomach, no kidneys and no anus. He only survived 12 hours. My brother was able to hold him for a short time; however my sister-in-law was never allowed to hold him, which broke her heart. My cousin, Weldon, was the chief of police at the time in Pittsburg when all of this was going on and my mom, dad and I were out of state traveling and Weldon had APB's and everything out searching for us. We were traveling between Mt. Pleasant and Pittsburg on our way home when we saw Richard heading toward Mt. Pleasant and he saw us and stopped, turned around and told us the horrific news. So we returned from vacation to an emotional upheaval and devastating funeral.

Many years have passed since that fateful summer day but it still lives on in my memory...a day that I will never forget as it has been burned on the retina's of my eyes. My sister-in-law and brother have gone on to have three more boys now grown men with wives of their own and now starting families and they also have one daughter...named Rian.

To be able to see the grave marker of my nephew helps for me to remember the past but also allows me to appreciate how far we have come as a family. So I thank you for that. Without my family and the many friends we had and still have in the Pittsburg area (as I now live in Arkansas and have for the past 30 years) 1982 would have been even more of difficult to survive than it was then. I was only 15 at the time and I struggled with Ryan's death hard enough. Quite honestly, I don't know how my brother and his wife survived. It was ONLY by the grace of God.

Thank you again for your willingness to go out and photograph these grave markers for others. They really do make a difference.

Clayton Mack Sellers
Find A Grave Memorial# 63794539

Hi Darla,
I just wanted to thank you again for transferring Clayton's memorial to me a few years ago.

Just wanted to let you know I just today found a newspaper obit when looking through old family albums and was able to enter the info in his bio.

That's why teamwork works so well.
