Hi, I'm Suzie. I became interested in genealogy in 2007 after my father died.|
I live in Austin, TX, with my husband and our two kidlets. I enjoy riding my dirt bikes (yz250f & ttr225), learning digital photography (Nikon D90), genealogy, exploring cemeteries, and reading.
Feel free to send corrections and/or add photos to any memorial I maintain. Death certificates are welcome. Thank you for any contribution you care to make. I can't tell you how much I appreciate everyone's assistance and input. I do try to credit contributors in the memorial bios with links to their Find A Grave profiles.
If you would like to maintain a memorial I have created, please leave me a message or use the "edit - suggest a correction" option. I am open to transferring memorials to anyone who is in any way related to, or friends of, the deceased. Or if you are investigating a particular family line, feel free to ask for a transfer. I try to add as much information as I can to each memorial I create. If I can't add anything else, I'm happy to transfer to someone who might be able to add more.
Sadly, I have to add this caveat to my transfer policy. I will happily transfer to family members or researchers who are willing to transfer to family members who request it. If you have 30,000 memorials, and you maintain 30,000 PLUS memorials, but you refuse to transfer an uncle to a niece, I will not transfer to you. I will happily update memorials and credit you for the information. But I am NOT going to deny a family member a transfer just because they are out of the four generation rule.

Apologies for not responding sooner, I don't have the best internet access. Our families are not related but we did know Jimmy as we were residents of Keystone until 2008.
I would be happy for the transfer and thank you very much.

Hi there, I notice you reference the parents names of John Gonzales, dob, 26 June 1886 and dod 17 Dec. 1928. Can you tell me where it is you located John's parent's names.
I appreciate your time.

Please be aware that any death certificate, obituary or document you have saying a person was buried in St. John's #2 means they are buried in YORKVILLE which is a different cemetery and a different location than what Find A Grave says.
The Pottsville PA cemetery information at Find A Grave is a mess. The cemetery they have as St John's #2 at N.Centre and Clinton streets is actually Saint Patrick's #3.
How did this happen? Apparently, Find A Grave doesn't check to verify cemeteries that people create. I believe somebody created a Saint John's #2 and it snowballed from there. I think it's foolish of Find A Grave to allow people to create cemeteries when they can't find what they are looking for. Folks often don't know the area they are dabbling with and that a cemetery they can't find is actually on the list but is known as another name. That is what probably happened.
St. John's #2 is aka the YORKVILLE cemetery and is also called Saint John the Baptist Roman Catholic Cemetery. Find A Grave says that Yorkville is aka St. John's #3 and that's wrong
St. John's #3 is the now abandoned cemetery at 8th and Pierce streets in Pottsville. Find A Grave calls that St. John's #1
Saint John's #1 was behind the church and is now a parking lot. Those who were interred there were moved to Calvary cemetery in Mount Carbon
It's a serious problem and Find A Grave don't seem to really care as they have ignored all 3 of my attempts to get it corrected. I finally said screw it.
All I have written is what I was told at the Schuylkill County Historical Society and one of the ladies who helped me was a church record keeper at Saint John the Baptist in Pottsville for many years.
FWIW, I found all 11 of my people who were said to be buried at St John's #2 in the cemetery at 20th and Mahantonga streets and that is Yorkville.
