The stone in my photo says it all|
"This is Me"
This stone can be found in the Mentor City Cemetery, Mentor Ohio. It is part of a family plot towards the back of the cemetery. There is a main family stone and than this one. It's not the prettiest stone by far but the guy had a sense of humor. I smile everytime I see it.
Now to more Find A Grave stuff.
You know what truly amazes mamaquilts, is the number of people who send her an email stating that the memorial she has created is a duplicate. Then it turns out that the other memorial is a duplicate because it was created after the one that Mamaquilts made. Mamaquilts does report people who purposely create duplicates.
Please use the Edit buttons found on each memorial. They do make is much easier for updates to be done.
Please use the EDIT button for memorial transfers with a statement as to why you want to have the transfer made (family member, friend, military etc). If it falls outside of the Find A Grave rules, mamaquilts has the last say as to whether or not she'll transfer. She is very accommodating with transfers.
Please remember that most of the people here on Find A Grave are volunteers and do have lives out side of this site. Please wait the 30 days for corrections to be done.
UPDATE: Please wait for the 30 days that is required for Find A Grave correction to take place. Mamaquilts does not live on this website and makes corrections on her time as it is permitted.
In March of 2014, Mamaquilt's Dad was killed in an accident. If you would like to visit her Dad's memorial you can find it here

I did run across a Sophia Day who was single.
Her son-in-law lived on Madison St near the address you have and your first information said Mrs. Sarah B Day. I've searched all the census records and she is the only one with the right age and location.
Thanks for input.

Orrin Day and Sophia Banks had a daughter who married Van C Shrider in Cleveland. Della's Michigan death certificate lists her father Orrin Day and mother Sophia Banks and that Della was born in Binghamton, NY.
I've traced Sophia and Orrin from New York to Ohio in census records. In 1880 they were in Dover, Ohio just 80 miles from Cleveland. Their daughter Della marries in Cleveland, OH and both Van Shrider and Orrin DAy are in the Cleveland, OH directories of the early 1880's. In addition, there are no other Sophia B Day's in census records of 1880 born in New York about 1826 and living in Ohio at the time. The only other Sophia Ohio candidate was born in MD in 1822 and is buried near Belmont, OH.
I suppose there is the off chance a Sophia showed up in 1883. That is always a worry, those in between census years.

I am working on it through the directories for Cleveland. Van Shrider (Shreider, Schreider) their son-in-law lived at 1020 E Madison Ave in 1887. One his relatives William B Shrider lived at 98 E Madison Ave in 1886.
But so far no 968 Madison in Cleveland by anyone named Day or Shrider.
Directories are usually a year behind. In Cleveland's 1883 Directory Orrin Day engineer lives at 16 Brown and Van Shrider lies at 14-1/2 Brown.
I'll look some more and get back to you.

You have added my father to this page without correct information. I buried by father in 1978 and his birthday and death is on the headstone-- along with the USAF Insignia. It is insulting that you people do this without considering the feelings of the surviving family. His birthdate is 06/09/1932, his death is 11/24/1978. He is in the Veterans' section because I had a choice to bury him there or in Arlington Nation Cemetery. This has hurt my family very much. Only people in the family should be allowed to post information like this.
