Bio Photo I started working on my family history after the TV mini-series Roots aired in the late 1970's. It was slow going back then...writing lots of letters and then waiting for weeks for replies. So much easier when computers came along!!!

A big thanks to all the wonderful members of for all the help and support they give. I live in Oregon, but most of my family came from the eastern two-thirds of the U.S., so it's hard for me to to travel to cemeteries there. I have received grave photos from volunteers all over the U.S. and that has meant the world to me.

I started taking volunteer photos for other members in 2012. It pains me to drive by a cemetery knowing that there are photo requests for graves there. Please feel free to use my photos in any way you like (no need to ask permission)...that's why I take them!!! Also, I would be happy to transfer memorials for anyone that is not a relative of mine.

Some of my families are: Fadness, Jensen, Okins, Shortt, Griffith, Parke, Sims, Pond.

Good luck to everyone in their search. Juelette

WOW! Thank you so much for emailing back. Later today I am going to email you more. Your outstanding site started all of this. I have a picture of you from George H. Atkinson Elementary School. I will see if I can send it to you on your gmail account.

Thank you so much!

I hope you got my other message. I now have the medals and the photo album. There must be 30-40 pictures of him. Some with this girl friend, parents and sister. There is so much stuff. Did you know him?

Dear Juelette,

We have started to research Aldwin Ellis and your site on find a grave is outstanding. As I write this email I have his medals, papers and a family photo album coming to me. Are you related? Once I get it I will post more pics. if that is OK with you? Please watch this video about what we do in the classroom to honor these heroes.

I have a new and larger classroom and we are building a museum for veterans.

Do you have access to the rest of the newspaper article that you posted regarding his prisoner of war letter home?
He was my late husband's uncle.
Thank you,

RE: Crestview section photos
Yeah, sure, you are very welcome. Cleaning up the gravestones is my exercise program. :-] I can't do exercise for the sake of exercising to save my life but I can hike all over the cemetery looking for graves and scrubbing like a crazy man on them to make them look better. How "funny" is that?!
I like doing pictures so it was fun you put in the requests so I would have more of them to go out there and do. I have always liked helping people and this is one way I can do that.
You don't suppose you could put in a request for pics of Kenneth Wilson's parent's do you? He is buried right by them.
I messed up when I was out there yesterday. When I found Karl Butler's grave my brain switched into Butler mode or something? I forgot all about the fact that the other one that was supposed to be by him was a Groves. What really threw me off was I knew there were two graves that were supposed to be by each other. I found Karl Butler and then saw the grave for Joseph Butler and I guess I thought Joseph was the other grave that was supposed to be by him. So, now I am waiting for the rain to stop so I can go back out there and get the pics for Kenneth Groves and re-do the area shots for him and Karl Butler who are side by side. If you could put in a request for pics for Joseph Butler too that would be nice. I don't know why for sure but I like getting my "brownie" point for fulfilling a request. Getting old is getting weirder all the time it appears to me.

Helen Mary Lewis
Hi Juelette,

Thanks for all you've done and are doing.

I'm looking for information about Helen Mary Lewis (1831-1922). You were so kind to leave a transcript of her obituary and it will help a great deal with my research.

I was wondering if you had a copy of the original article or know where I might find it.

Thank you!
