Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a Cornwell. My Cornwells came to VA in the 1600's and then immigrated through OH and on into IL. My dad and I have been researching the Cornwell family for well over 25 years. Rather than focus solely on my line, I have had an interest in all people with the Cornwell name--trying to link them all together.

I also have a particular interest in the burials of Clark County, IL, where much of my family resides. Please send any additions and corrections to my memorials using the edit tab on the top right corner of the memorial page to make it easier for me to make the proper corrections.

Lydia "Emma" (Atwood) Gilbert Hall
Hi there. I'm an Atwood and just submitted some edits for my 2nd great aunt Emma. Let me know if you need any documentation for the edits. My father, and many others, were born in Robinson, Marshall, and the general area. I've visited a few times and may stop in in the next week and do some visiting and research. If you've any research tips, I'd be happy to hear of them. Considering stopping at the court house and any genealogical groups in the area. Thanks, Alan

SAMUEL SNEED
Hi Cindy,

It's been awhile since we've communicated. My interest is the Hasten family in Medsker Cem. Mary Sneed Hasten, was Peter's 4th wife -- no children, but her three children, Samuel, Maria, and Emily and from previous marriage to Calvin Sneed were enumerated in the 1870 census with Peter. I used the "Edit" tab yesterday to correct his mother to Mary. I received an email today saying it had been accepted, but checked and no change. I'm guessing there is some lag time. Also his wife's name was Minnesota "Minnie." Marriage record can be found on:

Citing this Record:
"Illinois, County Marriages, 1810-1940," database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:X2PG-X96 : 3 March 2016), Samuel Sneed and Minnessota E Gunning, 1873; citing Clark, Illinois, United States, county offices, Illinois; FHL microfilm 1,306,061.

Hope this is helpful. Thanks so much for all your work.

Thomas Cornwell
I searched the entire St Johns Anglican Church Cemetery and there is no longer a headstone for Thomas Cornwell.
Please remove request.

RE: Thank You - Rebeckah Wells Cornwell
You are welcome. Her stone is somewhat hidden under a bunch of low hanging trees which probably precluded previous attempts at photographing it. I used a mirror to redirect some light on its face so that it became readable.

Penny Cornwall request
Hi Cindy: I thought I would tell you a little something about Westminster Cemetery. They are not computerized and everything is kept on 3 x 5 cards by date of death. Without a date of death, they will never be able to find Penny. I looked on Ancestry and find a Penny Lynn Cornwall born Jul 18, 1947 in CA and died Jun 7, 1961 in Los Angeles County, CA. Mother's maiden name Ingle. If this sounds like the right person, you should put in an edit to add those dates to her memorial. Hope this is helpful. Chris

RE: Rupp Cemetery - Clark County - # 53956706- Otho McManus
Thank you. That is helpful. For what it is worth the specific date that transcription suggests would be a perfect match to all other information we have found for Otho, so it is probably accurate.
