I'm a hobby genealogist who has been working since about 1990. I'm in the process of writing books about the McKee line of my family and I hope to publish soon.

The McKee family moved from Irland to the United States in the 1830's. They eventually all gathered on farms around Sparta in Randolph County, Illinois. Children of the migration generation grow up in the area. By the 1900's they begin to scatter all across the United States. Few family members are left in the area today.

RE: Richard Anderson Photo Request
OK. If it's in the very old part of the cemetery it's probably grassed over which is a shame. I'll try and attach some general cemetery vista's to the main page. It's a beautiful location

Not a problem, it was my pleasure. I am glad to be of service. It is a beautiful cemetery and I took another photo of the surrounding wall so that you can get a sense of where the plaque is situated. Let me know if you wish me to upload it to his memorial. Edie

RE: Eunice Marie McKee Photo
Sorry it took me so long to put that one together. It was about 70 degrees a couple of days last week, then rain and blizzard conditions with wind and snow yesterday. CRAZY! And back to balmy spring temps by the weekend. It's the great Midwest, what can I say:). Now I'm waiting for the ground to dry up again and I'll be back at it.

John Murphy
I am also looking for John Murphy. I have walked the cemetery and have not found his marker. According to the lady that has the records of the cemetery, he is buried there along with his wife Elizabeth Williams. How are you related? I am related to Elizabeth. Maybe we can share info. Sumach Cemetery Pix
Again, You're most welcome. I'm trying to photograph all the tombstones in Sumach--a herculean task.
