Bio Photo Most Ft. Snelling interments of servicemen and their families I have added I didn't know personally. I add head stone photos and a token/note when possible. I do this to honor the men and their families. I want to give their pages something more than just a name and a date.

"Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars."

I'm from Minneapolis, MN and have lived in this area all my life. I'm a proud veteran and spent 3 years in the army and I served two tours of duty in Viet Nam, (late 1969-1972.) I was wounded twice. I was assigned to The First Cavalry Division and was in the infantry and then a combat engineer & operated a bulldozer & later I was assigned to aviation and was a crew chief/door gunner on a UH-1 Huey helicopter. I'm a recipient of the Bronze Star, two Purple Hearts, two Air Medals, two Commendation Medals, Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Aircraft Crewman Wings, & a Marksman Rifle Medal.
I'm a former local truck driver of 35 years and a former part time fire photographer for seven years. I was forced to retire in 2004 due to back problems. Now I spend time listing interments. I fill photo requests for Fort Snelling National Cemetery. If you see ANY FT. Snelling memorials with a mistake or missing plots & sections or need a spouse/parents links added please let me know and I will get it corrected or updated.
I do appreciate you visiting Aaron's memorial and for all of your kind words. Thank you so much. It has helped a lot with the passing of my beloved Aaron. Aaron was a blessing and I miss him so much.
If you see anything that I have submitted that needs correction, please let me know. I will be happy to correct it.

So happy for you
I had 3 children... lost both of my sons in separate accidents.. my oldest one had 3 children, but they have chosen not to have anything to do with me... my daughter had 3 children... after the divorce she and the children and I stayed together here in my house... I have these children all the time...the other three I don't see.
I am so glad that you have family! Grandchildren keep us forever young!

RE: Nita's memorial
I didn't realize you had a granddaughter! For some reason I thought that Aaron was an only child! Grandchildren are wonderful.. all 3 of mine are older now... one is almost turns 12 on the 27th..and the baby turns 11 this year! She and her brother are 16 months apart! That was a challenge when they were tiny...but they were both good babies..and the older one liked helping back then! haha!
Take care... enjoy that sweet grandbaby!

I would like to thank you for adding the Grave photo of my Grandfathers brother to find a grave. I only recently found out about him after I was going over some papers from my grandfathers and found a clipping about him. I intend to visit the grave when I can and I have also added the newspaper clipping alongside your photo. Once again I thank you and I'm happy to know that both brothers are in the same cemetery.

Nita's memorial
I left Nita's flowers for her birthday on the 23rd today... sure do miss her. Am glad that there is a memorial done up for her, even though I have heard that is not what she would have wanted. She never voiced that to me... as I told her that there were a lot of people that loved her and would want to visit her even after she was gone!
I left flowers for her mom and dad, too...I am sure that was an awesome reunion!
God bless you, and I do hope that you are doing well.
Take care, Cecile

Thank you
I've been thinking so much about my dad as my kiddos grow. It is suicide prevention day. He was one of many vets who died by suicide. Thank you for visiting his grave for me. I like leaving him messages here. Please give him my love again if you are at the cemetery. I visited you sons website. He sounds so wonderful--and he must have known how much you treasured him because you are obviously such a giving soul. I will send positive thoughts his way and yours.

Thank You
Thank you for taking the photo and honoring my father-in-law at Fort Snelling. I'm so sorry for the loss of your son, Aaron. Your service to complete strangers, helping people find their loved ones, is a beautiful tribute to your son and so is the web site for Aaron.
God Bless and Thank You!
