Bio and Links
Bio Photo I live in Spokane Valley, Washington. I am retired and volunteer with the Spokane County Sheriff's office and the Sheriff's Community Oriented Policing Effort.

I began researching family history in 1990. My wife Lou was curius about her Father's side of the family as her Mother and Father had divorced when she was a baby and she knew very little about the Creighton side of her Family. I traced Lou's Creighton and Rea lines back to when they arrived in New York in the late 1700s. I developed an interest in my Family history and have traced many of my various lines to the early 1600s in America.

John Wilkerson Huitt, Sr. descendants
Dick,

I noticed that you placed a flower on the John Wilkerson Huitt, Sr. memorial on Find-a-Grave and identified him as a 4th great grandfather. This man was also a grandfather to me so that would make us cousins. If you are interested in exchanging information, contact me at hansenld@hotmail.com

John & Jane Cooper
So glad I found this sight. My 4th great- grandparents were John and Jane (Crawford) Cooper.
Thanks for the volunteer work that made this possible for me.

My Cooper line kept moving west till it hit the Pacific Coast, and getting info on them is typically difficult. Seeing photos, rather than a note in a letter about graves in New York is the real deal, and fires me up to pick up the family burden and slog on through the genealogy my mother started on my dad's side of the family.

Can you tell me how the Creightons and Coopers are related ?
Thanks again, Ralph Cooper

I posted a photograph of her gravestone (memorial 55687757). Although the year of death on the stone is very difficult to read, 1824 (the date shown on the memorial) does not appear to be a possibility. Cemetery records show year of death to be 1822.

Ott Family
Additions/Corrections -

George Ott was not born in Elkhart County, Indiana, he was born in Preble County, Ohio. Jacob and Mary did not leave Ohio until abt. March 1837...where he can be found purchasing land in Kosciusko County on March 20, 1837. Francis was the first child born in Indiana in (Kosciusko) 1842. Daniel and Samuel were also born in Kosciusko County. He didn't purchase land in Elkhart County until May 10, 1848, where Malinda was born.

Not sure when they went to Missouri. There are records that a Jacob Ott purchased land in Gasconade County as early as June 1, 1850, whether this is the correct Jacob Ott is anybodies guess...as I have atleast 4 more with the name - Jacob Ott, two that could be this Jacob Ott. The last person that I have marrying in Indiana is Thomas Jefferson in 1872.

Also, could you link George to his first wife - Fanny Susanna Albason Ott - 40653569. Thanks!
