I spent many years in Winslow, Arizona, Dallas and Houston, Texas. I now live in Salt Lake City and am retired from the Union Pacific Railroad and Delta Air Lines. Once I found out how many of my relatives had memorials on Find A Grave and how many more needed to be added, I was hooked. For the first six years on Find A Grave I added memorials mainly in Utah. For the last six years I have concentrated solely on adding memorials for African American cemeteries in Southern Texas. EVERYONE NEEDS TO BE REMEMBERED. I have traveled to Texas many, many times in the last six years taking pictures. All African American death certificates for Fayette County, Colorado County, Austin County, Washington County, ant Hunt County have been added to Find A Grave as long as the cemetery could be verified and they weren't already added by someone else. As of November 7, 2022 I have added 20,627 memorials on Find A Grave for African Americans buried in the above counties. A work in progress. I believe in adding as much info to a memorial as possible from the death certificate and Ancestry.com. This includes all birth and death info and connecting them to as many family members as possible. FAMILIES ARE FOREVER. Death certificates are a great source of info but certainly not 100% accurate. The more info you add, that can be verified, the easier it will be for future generations to find their ancestors. I always check to make sure I'm not creating a duplicate so, if you see one that I've overlooked please let me know or click on the edit button and look on the left side of the memorial for the "Report Duplicate" button. Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. If you have extensive additions/changes to make to a memorial, please use the link under the "Edit" tab on the memorial.
