Finally after all these years I'm back in touch with Jamey Mcloughlin and his Mom Barbara from Roane co. Jamey has sent some pictures and I will put them on the memorials.
Got to spend a day with Chris Cash and his wife Joy in Gulf Shores, sure enjoyed their visit.
ANCESTORS ON MOTHERS SIDE
Our Ancestors deserve to be recognized, their homes, occupations, court houses, even their families were destroyed by the invading northern army from, fill in the blank. They wanted to destroy our history. Lets not give up, just change our tactics.
Have you ever wondered where you came from, why are you here, who you are and where are you going?
If you are a family member, or not, leave some flowers on the memorials so that others will know that you came by.
Thank you Sue for helping me clean up some of my kinfolks part in the Generys Gap Cemetery, and planting the roses. I couldn't have did it with out you. (May 2013).

|michael hemphill||Dodson Family|
Bobby: Have been researching my mothers (Dodson) family, have reached this point. It looks like my line goes to John Dods, born in about 1588 in Yorkshire, England and Jane Eagle Plume. My grandfather was William Solomon Dodson (the second WM Dodson), born in Carlyle, IL. If there are any websites, sources of pictures, stories,etc. you could share or direct me to I would appreciate it.
Thx so much,
|Barbara Latham||Lee family of Johnston County, NC - Tenn - Arkansas|
I have been researching the Lee families of Johnston County, North Carolina as I follow members of that family through Tennessee and on to Clark Township, Johnson County, Arkansas. I have so many questions and find myself very eager to learn anything I can about them. My research began in trying to identify the JOHN LEE who married Nancy Richie Dethrow in August 1860 in Johnson County, ARK. The two had one daughter - Martha Jane Lee who married John Hansel Trusty. My pastor is in the direct line of John Trusty, so I want very much to trace that family back as accurately as possible.
If you could direct me to additional resources, or to the factual story of the Lee line, I would be very grateful. Thank you for all that you are doing to enrich the FindAGrave community.
|Rachel||James and Elizabeth Thames Doss|
Hi. I was wondering how you came to the conclusion that James and Elizabeth Doss died in Shelby County, Alabama? The last place I have them locates is in Mississippi during the 1880 census. Have you found something that can prove they went back to Alabama? Thank you, Rachel

|Tundra Girl||Capt. Thomas Greenbury Lee|
I am researching the Lee family and am scratching my head at some of the "facts" that I see on ancestry.com. Do you know why Thomas moved around so much? Do you know if he ever lived in Jones County, NC? Do you know if he ever owned any slaves? I would have written off the 1790 census that said he owned 52 slaves because it doesn't seem plausible for someone to have owned that many slaves and move around that much. I haven't seen what he did for a living and I don't think the land that he received was in Jones County, NC. However, one of the census takers was a Mr. Bryan, a family name.
I also see Richard Lee being his father, I'll change that to John. Was Judith Steptoe his mother? It says he married at 17, was married for 12 years and only had one son. That seems odd. Do you know anything from that time frame?
I'll keep pursuing this, I was eager to know what info you had that you didn't share on John Lee Sr.'s page.
Thanks so much,
|Kathy Thompson||Johnny Horton|
Kelly Hagy is writing a book about Johnny Horton, and read that you were an acquaintance of his parents and brother. Could you email Kelly at firstname.lastname@example.org Thank you. She would love to talk to you.
I just wanted to let you know that I went to the Crab Orchard Cemetery in Oakdale,TN on Saturday. I walked the cemetery twice going from stone to stone and did not find a marker for any of our family members. There are many many graves marked only by a rock or an indent in ground where you can tell a grave is but no marker.

My great-grandfather was George Ernest Morgan (memorial #40523138) son of Andrew and Amanda Morgan. We must be cousins! Do you have any pictures of Andrew or Amanda?
