Bio and Links
Bio Photo I live in Los Angeles, CA.

I give permission to use any picture I have taken for Find a Grave for use for other programs, websites or genealogical purposes. After all, that's why we take the pictures, so people can use them for their families.

I will transfer NON-family memorials according to Find-A-Grave rules.

I will be more than happy to update memorials.

New System for Memorial Edits deployed by FindAGrave on 12/5/2013

Go to your Contributor/Profile page. Look in the upper right corner. You should now see a tab called "Edits." Check there to see if any recommendations that have been submitted to you. Review the suggestion and accept it. If you cannot confirm the information then you have the option to decline the suggestion.

This is more accurate for doing updates to names/dates/places/plot numbers/links. If the manager hasn't reviewed the suggestion within 21 days the program will automatically accept the information.

You may copy my photos.

~A Poem for our Ancestors~
Your tombstone stands among the rest
Neglected and alone
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished marble stone
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood and bone
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so
I wonder if you lived and loved
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot
And come to visit you

RE: Charles Bill Moraga Jr. Death 1943
hmm jane, if he enlisted or drafted in world war one, he would have a card, with minor information on it. and it would say, in this case army. no air force, and the navy is rather hard, you would have to contact NAVAL DEPT in missouri, where all the records are kept. hopefully, his records survived the massive fire in the 1900's, lots of records destroyed because they were paper.

i found everything you have found, plus some fotos of him, and it does, if it is him, look like a uniform or similar. if he enlisted there has to be a card on him, regardless of los angeles, that is a national thing to be posted by military. jane, cannot locate a thing on the guy militarily speaking.....? were his parents walter edward and hettie, or a vivian josephine?

let me know if you know any more. tcbjammon at yahoo com

Charles Bill Moraga Jr. Death 1943
hi, i don't know how he died in 1943 or where but i did look up marines killed in wwii, from los angeles county and found this next to his name:

DNB

DNB - Died Non-Battle, Army personnel who died in the line-of-duty, from sickness, homicide, suicide, or accidents outside combat areas. This would include deaths during training and maneuvers outside combat areas.

that is all i know for now

sincerely,
tc

RE: Edward Seymour Nichols
Hi Jane-I'm happy to be able to help. I've cultivated a pretty good relationship with the office staff at St Joe's and they helped by looking it up. There was no indication when the move occurred but the records did say that he was relocated from Arlington...Mary

RE: Caroline Frances Beerman Nichols
Hi Jane-I checked with the cemetery office to try to sort out the discrepancy of Carrie's husband, Edward showing up on the headstone in St Joseph while he has a Find a Grave memorial at Arlington Cemetery in Elmhurst. The St Joseph office checked their records and advise that Edward was first buried in Arlington Cemetery and then removed and reinterred in St Joseph...Mary

The issue is that Leonard Cyril Hochstein is listed twice as a child or the above.

Found this today while visiting with a former Nebraskan, and she gave me many of the family ties.
