Bio and Links
Bio Photo trying to stay ahead of developers who want to cover historical markers... and the weather, time and vandals that obscure the inscriptions... to honor those that walked before us.

Although I visit cemeteries whenever I travel (to the dismay of others in the car), most of my work is in Vermont, New Hampshire, New York's lower Hudson Valley and Washington State's Skagit County. I've been known to wander off to Massachusetts, Connecticut and Maine given the opportunity.

Whenever possible, I post a photo--a photo makes it real. I also try to list the sources I've used to stitch together family relations or any info that I might find. I will not link to those who are listed as burial location unknown.

Thank you in advance for sending in corrections or additions using the Edit button. I appreciate your updates very much. Although I try to thank and acknowledge all corrections, I may not always have the time. Edits posted in the message area below will be ignored and deleted.

I transfer direct relatives within three generations (that means: your siblings, parents, grandparents, children, and grandchildren). As Richard H so aptly puts it:
"... someone who died 200 years ago could be related to thousands of people." Please use the virtual cemetery feature to group your family memorials.

My activity is seasonal--I use the New England winters to create new memorials with the images I've collected the rest of the year. There are several thousand waiting to be processed... Click here to see the memorials I've added in the past few 7 days.

Thanks!

Ellis, Gabriel, and Anna Post
It looks like you accepted my suggested edits to Ellis and Gabriel Post, but not to Anna. I can understand why you did not approve the link from Ellis to Anna as there are problems with Anna's memorial page. For a start, it says that she is the wife of Garret Post. Actually Garret is her son. I made some other suggested edits to Anna's memorial as well, but the person that is managing the memorial as not responded to the suggested edits yet. I'll resubmit the edit to link Ellis to Anna once the edits have been accepted. Thanks

Henry Lewis Pierson
Is there any chance of a better photo of the tombstone for Henry Lewis Pierson at Ramapo Cemetery? I can see that there is quite a bit of writing on the stone, but cannot read it on the image at findagrave.

Thank you,

Janna Larson

Tenney
The system should resolve itself as to who his descendants are.

Yes, thank you. I caught my error and have amended the memorial.

Thank you for your help.

RE: Augusta Brooks
I just found an article dated 1932, in the Freeport NY Daily Review, that mentioned Miss Elizabeth Bull and her mother, Mrs. Augusta Bull, of Patchogue. More evidence that she is buried on Long Island.

RE: Augusta Brooks
Thanks again for all of this information. I looked up the book and found that there might be a copy at the New York Public Library. A field trip is in order :-) Or I can buy it for a little more than $250. It may just be worth it.

Much of my daughter-in-law's family is from Sag Harbor, Patchogue, and other locations on Long Island so your assumptions may very well be correct.

RE: Augusta Brooks
One more question if I may - you mentioned a son, Russell, but I don't see his name on the memorial. Do you happen to know his dates?
Thanks again.

RE: Augusta Brooks
Thanks so much for getting back to me LadyGoshen. Yes, my daughter-in-law is the 2nd great granddaughter of Charles Franklin Bull. I just started this research so I really appreciate your help and information.
