Bio and Links
Bio Photo In 2004, I became an early retiree, retiring from an aerospace corporation in the southwest and now live in the midwest. I love spending quality time with my family, genealogy, flower gardening, and traveling.

I'm a wife and the mother of two children, a daughter and a son, and three grandchildren. I also have a really great sister and brother-in-law.

I have been researching my family history for over 30 years and also enjoy corresponding with other researchers and helping them with their research, if I can. It's a way for me to give back, for all the people who have helped me through the years.

With the advent of the world wide web, I have been able to meet a lot of cousins from every branch of the family. It's sure been interesting as well as a lot of fun.

Find A Grave has given all of us a way to establish a living memorial for our loved ones...it's a really great thing...linking families together forever.

Joyce

Shadrack Williams FAG #68401115
Please tell me how you determined Charles L Williams was Shadrack's father, because I have this Shadrack as brother to my Isaac and either I have the wrong Shadrack or Charles is not correct. Any info would be appreciated. Karen

No problem. I understand. The issue is straightened out. I transferred management to one of your Cantrells.
God bless you, Sally

Rev Isaac Cantrell

First, thank you for the correction.

Second, I was afraid that you were being badgered by well meaning people who are just misinformed. It is hard to stand up to such pressure and I am happy to take the heat. I take so much heat regarding my project identifying the actual participants of the Battle of King's Mountain that anything else is child's play.

I received the message below purporting to be documentation of the "Thornton". It actually documents that his birth name was Isaac Cantrell.

This case illustrates the care we must give to the information posted online and the way that information evolved. The LDS files are so convoluted. At one time, they were considered infallible. Researchers know, however, that those records are compiled by descendants who may or may not have conducted in-depth research. The same is try of NFS legacy. It is a prime example of GIGO: garbage in - garbage out.

Read the US and International Marriage Records referenced below: it states clearly his birth name: Isaac Cantrell.

Again, thank you for the correction. With the correction, you have added historical accuracy for his legions of descendants and we greatly appreciate your work on Find A Grave.

If I have any documentation on anything that you might need, just let me know and I will send it forthwith.

Vonnie Cantrell

Sarah Hester Botkin - Memorial# 97286932
G’day Joyce,

This memorial relates to Sarah Hester Botkin, the _first_ wife of George Botkin.

The three images that accompany the memorial, however, are images of the headstone of the _second_ wife of George Botkin. She was also named Sarah and was at the time of their marriage a widow, as indicated in the Clark Co. Ohio records - “Sarah Turk (Mrs.)”.

The date of death of Sarah (Hester) Botkin was 13 Apr 1831; the date of Mrs. Sarah Turk’s marriage to George (Bodkin) Botkin was 22 Nov 1832; the year of death of Sarah (Turk) Botkin was 1850 (from the headstone images - I can’t decipher the month).

George Botkin fathered just one child by his second wife, a daughter named Isabel Jane (1834 - 1914). I don’t know what Sarah Turk’s maiden name was, what her first husband’s name was (but perhaps Thomas), or what became of the children of her first marriage.

Henry and Eliza Catherine (Lore) Boyce
Dear jcq, I was researching some Boyce persons looking for a certain James Boyce. I found one who is the son of Henry and Eliza, I was going to link him but found there are duplicate memorials for both Henry and Eliza. Your set of memorials are in White Church Cemetery and were created in 2014. The other set is in Zion Cemetery, Bay, Gasconade County Mo. The other set spells the name Boyse. The death certificates state burial Mt. Zion. They are the same persons but as I am not even directly related I leave this one to you.
Your Henry memorial#140381112
The other memorial#47934829 created in 2010
Best wishes and best of luck with this conundrum. Lily

Rebecca Burris Perkins
Find-a-Grave memorial #95681592, regarding the birthdate of the mother of the Rebecca Burris Perkins, Martha Hutchinson Burris.

I was wondering if you could recheck & possibly change the birthdate of Martha Hutchinson Burris. She is my 4X great grandmother. Rebecca Burris Perkins is her daughter born in 1836 and her sister, my 3X great-grandmother Harriet Burris Allen was born in 1830. You show their mother born in 1839, after they were born. Thank you, Terry Strick, Paducah, KY

Louisa Smith Qualls
I am doubtful that Louisa is in the Duncan Municipal Cemetery as they have great records for the cemetery. Most likely she is in an unmarked grave at the Old Duncan Cemetery. The records were lost in a fire.

I see you left a note lately on her memorial. I found her gravestone and now have photos up. If you are family, thought you would like to see it.
Difficult to read but finally made it all out.
I put captions on the photos.
I love this old cemetery. Love to walk through and see all the famous Parisians that are buried there.
