PLEASE use the Edit tab at right top of the memorial, then I will know exactly who and what you are writing about without having to enter names, and memorial numbers.

|Beverly ||Alice Potter Machias|
Hi, thanks for much for that lead on Alice's maiden name being Bass. I was able to locate records for her and added a better bio. Still curious as to how she came to be in Machias but that remains a mystery. I did find one son and perhaps she had more and one married into a Sargent or Machias connection. Thanks again, Beverly

|Beverly ||RE: Little Sammie 175974037|
Hi, you wrote - "Large stone monument is clear to read. Your birth year for him doesn't jive. he died in 1860 AE 8 months. you can calculated his birth.
thanks for correcting."
JoE - I have added a better explanation as I was not clear on the first bio. The reason I left it ambiguous before was that either the stone engraving is incorrect or one of the birth records is incorrect. Sammie is shown in the census with his parents in July 1860 so a calculation from 1860 is not possible as it would not match his birth record which shows he was born in May of 1859. He had to have been older than 8 mos at time of his death. The birth record for the other Sammie shows him born Jan 10, 1857.
Thanks for the better photo and the correction for his sister, I have added her middle name and date. Thanks, Beverly

|John H. Wheeler Jr.||Nelson Gray|
I'm sorry Joe. The Nelson Gray I found was born born in 1847 and died in 1927. I didn't realize the error until I posted it, so I deleted it. Unfortunately there was no way for me to reactivate the request once I had claimed it... I'm sorry.

|Deana B.||RE: Ida Hatt and John Hatt|
Thanks! I'm not specifically working on Court Street, but there are a lot of people there and my family has been in the Machias area for ages. I'm pretty sure if I do this long enough, I'll find I'm related to every single person in that cemetery! I live in Maryland now, so I only get back home once or twice a year. I'll be up there in August, and plan to do a lot of cemetery walks and photographs while I'm there. If no one has fixed this before then I'll try to hunt down the other John Hatt stone. Thanks for all you've done up in that area!

|Kathy Gartner||RE: Norris, Edward and Anna 103485462|
Hi, The records show this is where Anne and Edward are buried. But the only names on the stone are James E.(1863-1946) and Anna C "Heitzman" Norris (1863-1952) I took the Headstone for you but I checked all around it and not markers for Anna and Edward. Sorry I could not find the names. Kathy
You are really going to town I see and it's great.
If you need any help just let me know. 3 heads are always better. Mine gets cluttered sometimes and yes, everything really does revolve around these Gerbers. I just keep plugging away at them and I find out all kinds of interesting things. I'm still trying to make the connection to Klink and Klinck. I still think there is one but I just can't get it Yet.

Happy New Year.
I am going over my files again and here's one we might like to follow.
Is there any way of finding out if Frank Albert Gerber born December 28, 1886 Died May 4, 1967 is indeed buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery as that is what I show but we have no memorial yet. I probably got that info from my aunt but she is passed so I can't ask her. As the world turns..... : - )
