I wrote the following few paragraphs when I first started researching my tree. They are as true today as they were back then. However, If there's one thing that has shown to be more important than anything else it's teamwork!! No one person can document all the information that needs to be made public. That's why the edit tab at the top of your profile page is so important. Please give a look at that list of entries as often as possible. As you process the entries, visiting the memorial pages and comparing them to your own work is crucial and informative. You'll find family members that you were never able to find before, because now,they've been linked. Genealogy is not fiction, its facts. Facts about every person listed. Check it out, you never know what may have been added since your last visit.|
As far as genealogy is concerned, I guess I'm a "newbie" started in 2005. My mother died in April, my step father died in July, and my sister died in October all in 2005. It finally dawned on me that all my history was gone. I've found some great people out there willing to help me to put my "tree" together. I want to give back as much as I've gotten. I take pictures of headstones in cemeteries that I visit and intend to do more. I want to share those photos with anyone who wants to use them.
If I've input some of your family and they are not relatives of mine, I'll gladly transfer them to you. Please use the edit tab on the memorial page to make your suggestions and add your links. The common courtesy of asking for changes and links instead of demanding is appreciated.
I can't stress enough the importance of the edits tab. The edit tab contains a list of corrections or additions that someone else has found for established memorials. Please look at this tab and process the ones listed for you. This is one of best "team" projects for genealogy. Let's all contribute the little pieces of information that everyone else may not have. IT'S ALL IMPORTANT.

|A. Liles Hok||Thanks|
Thank you for the transfers, and thanks for all your work here on Find a grave.

Find A Grave Memorial# 111691835 I've sent a special request for this memorial through the edits.
Also, I hope you don't mind if I send several family link requests. It's hard to space them out over several days as I tend to forget which families members still need work done if I don't send at once!
|Debbie G Morrogh||RE: Ophelia Guidry # 128777437|
I'm looking at the 1910 & 1920 census records & her name is Octavie. No Ophelia on it. I found marriage record for Octavie & Joseph. Also found birth record for Josephine. I'm not convinced the spousal edit you sent is accurate.
|Debbie G Morrogh||RE: Ophelia Guidry # 128777437|
I'm a member of Ancestry and have access to census records- which to me are a great hint help, but not the gospel. I thought maybe you found a marriage record or birth record for her.
So you don't know who her mother was?
|Debbie G Morrogh||Ophelia Guidry # 128777437|
Before I accept your edit, what is your source for her father's name? And who is her mother? I've not found a church record for her birth/baptism. Thank you. Debbie
|Tina Smith||Patricia Smith's Obit|
I updated Patricia's memorial and added the obituary. I thought I had added it before. This is my husband's mother. Thanks for the reminder, Tina

I have added her obit to her memorial. I figure she or a family member had to write up her obit. In the Social Security Application it lists her "last place of residence" as being Chicago, Il. I have found out from experience that this is not always where the person died. I had an experience where I knew of a person and knew all her info. She had lived in one state that she had applied for her Social Security. She then moved to another state to live with family. The new address was never submitted to SS. The info on the death index is as it was originally submitted. Hope this helps you out. Cemetery Lookers
|Anonymous||george washington price|
I am a relative of George Washington Price.
His parents are Jesse Price and Lynchie Preston.
His sister is Elizabeth (Betsy) Ann Price
Elizabeth married Redeford Preston.
I have a marriage certificate of this marriage signed by her brother George Washington Price.
I am unable to find any other legal document proving the parentage of Elizabeth Ann Price.
Now I am trying to prove her parentage through her brother George Washington Price.
Do you have any legal documents proving/mentioning the parentage of George Washington Price or Elizabeth (Betsy) Ann Price? If so, would you be willing to share?
I am doing a DAR search, and they only accept legal documents or book information with footnote notations.
Can you please help in my delimma?
