Special to The Register-Gazette.
Beloit, Wis., Dec. 1. - Caleb Sherman, for many years a resident of Beloit and for two years past a working man on the world's Fair buildings at St. Louis, died in the city Sunday night from the effect of injuries received by falling down stairs. A curious coincidence n connection with his death is the fact that he told his wife Saturday to pack up their belongings and make arrangements for returning to Beloit as he felt he had but a short time to live and he wanted to died in his old home[.] Sunday evening as he started to descend the stairs to the basement dining room Mr. Sherman lost his footing and fell, striking on his head. He lived but two hours. His body was brought to Beloit this afternoon for burial. Mr. Sherman was 65 years of age and leaves his widow and two daughter, Mrs. Nellie Webster and Mrs. Edith Setzer, both of this city. Mrs. Webster has been in the hospital for some time and Mrs. Sherman was here with her having returned to St. Louis but a few days ago.
