YOUR TOMBSTONE STANDS AMONG THE REST NEGLECTED AND ALONE. THE NAME AND DATE HAVE WORN OFF THE WEATHERED MARBLE STONE IT REACHES OUT TO ALL WHO CARE. ITS NOW TOO LATE TO MOURN, YOU DID NOT KNOW THAT I'D EXIST YOU DIED...AND I WAS BORN. YET EACH OF US ARE CELLS OF YOU IN FLESH, IN BLOOD, IN BONE. OUR HEARTS CONTRACT AND BEAT A PULSE ENTIRELY NOT OUR OWN. DEAR ANCESTOR, THE PLACE YOU FILLED SOME HUNDRED YEARS AGO SPREADS OUT AMONG THE ONES YOU LEFT WHO WOULD HAVE LOVED YOU SO. I WONDER HOW YOU LIVED AND LOVED. I WONDER IF YOU KNEW THAT SOMEDAY I WOULD FIND THIS PLACE AND COME TO VISIT YOU.

Regarding your question, there are many lists of Carignan-Saliere soldiers on various websites. Many of them take the names from the ship passenger lists. However, there were also men who joined in New France after their arrival. Aubin was already in New France so, he would not appear on any of the ship lists. Two of several websites that list him as a soldier are: www.quebec.acadian-home.org and www.migrations.fr

I'll need Range and Lot before I explore section 10. Thanks.

You currently have a request for a photo at Notre dame cemetery in Ottawa. I would be happy to go and get a photo for you but I would appreciate the location. This cemetery is quite large. It has 114,000 graves currently. If you call the cemetery office at
613-746-4175, they will give you the location. Then update the memorial with the plot and section number and I will go this month and get your photo.

Hi Bonnie, the information for her death came from her headstone located in the Cimetière de Laterrière (Laterrière is a borough of the city of Saguenay), on rue du Boulevard. I've attached a copy of her headstone to her memorial for you, so that you will have it for your records...

This is my 3rd great grandmother as well. I posted a caption for her tombstone photo. I'll do the same for her husband tomorrow. It looks like you and I are 4th cousins!

Find A Grave Memorial# 59444343 In the late 1930's and early 40's the cemetery sexton ordered military gravestones for people that he apparently thought were buried there and did not have stone. Many of them are not buried there at all and apparently some did have stones, like your John. There is a good sized section that I have seen a photo of with a lot of military stones. I am only guessing that his stone is one of those. I will try to send you the application--or will add it to the military stone memorial.

Happy to be able to oblige.

Please call the cemetery office and ask for the grave location. Photo requests cannot be fulfilled without Section, Range/Row and Lot numbers as cemetery is too big. Thank you!
