The descendants of the old settlers, those who cleared the land and first upturned the wild sod to the sun, should see that the doings of those early years are fittingly remembered and recorded. |
It was once remarked by a great writer that those who take no interest in the deeds of their ancestors are not likely to do anything worthy to be remembered by their descendants.
Please leave flowers or memorials on my memorials, I believe everyone deserves flowers, and I have a great family. Thank you in advance.
A BIG thank you to those who send histories, death notices, obits and links to add to the memorials. They are wonderful additions.
You may use my pictures and information for your family trees but I do like credit. This is all put on findagrave for your family trees because so many people have helped me with mine. Thank you.

Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out On polished, marble stone.
It reaches out to all who care It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our heart contracts and beat a pulse Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled One hundred years ago Spreads out among the ones you left Who would have loved you so.I wonder if you lived and loved,I wonder if you knew That someday I would find this spot, And come to visit you.

Is there any chance that the George R Perry in Madison City Cemetery, Hamilton, NY is George P (Perry) Cobb? George P's mother, Catherin Hubble Cobb, and siblings; Louisa Deborah Cobb Keith, Sarah E Cobb, and Josephine Cobb are all buried in the same cemetery.

I need to let you know that, although your information is correct, when I try to save this to ancestry.com it shows him having a completely different mother who was born the year before he was. I do not know how to correctly report the corrupted issue to find a grave.

A friend is trying to locate the resting place of her great-grandparents (Charles and Mary Herson) and an infant brother who was buried on their grave. She doesn't believe there ever was a stone for the baby. She visited the cemetery on July 3 but could not find the stones. She said there were some stones that were lying where she thought the graves were but couldn't read them. Here is the info. on them:
Charles HERSON [Parents] was born 20 Jun 1873 in Humboldt Township, Brown County, Wisconsin. He died 9 Sep 1958 in Los Angles County, California. Charles married Marie Josephine DEGRANDGAGNAGE.
Marie Josephine DEGRANDGAGNAGE [Parents] "Mary" was born 28 Feb 1880 in Union Township, Door County, Wisconsin. She died 29 Dec 1927 in Green Bay, Brown County, Wisconsin and was buried in Holy Cross Cemetery, Escanaba, Delta County, Michigan. Mary married Charles HERSON.
They had the following children:
F i Ina HERSON
M ii Joseph HERSON
M iii Lawrence HERSON
F iv Agnes HERSON

Barbara, my apologies for the piecemeal edits. I so often find that edits are ignored that I often don't bother to look up parent's info and link them -- it's a lot of extra work if the creator isn't going to edit it anyway. Since you were so fast, today I added Lena's parents!! Thanks, MArilee Mouser
