Bio and Links
Bio Photo Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.

If anyone has an addition or correction to anything I have posted please contact me and I will quickly correct it. I am more than happy to turn over ownership to anyone who requests it. AND PLEASE IF YOU SEE THAT I HAVE ENTERED A NAME TWICE, PLEASE TELL ME ABOUT IT. It is easy to make a duplicate without realizing it.

Also -- another FindAGrave contributor wrote this... I think it says it all:

Please note: This is NOT a numbers game, Nor a "who has who" game here. Some of us are serious about getting names & photos of headstones that are not going to be around and making memorial pages. That is what this is about, making/recording that person lived and died. Like many, I spend long, long hours either in a cemetery, or adding memorial pages to Findagrave.com. I would love to see some of the headstones of family members that were in the 1700 & 1800 of my family, but that isn't going to happen as many are gone.

It doesn't matter who has the memorial page, the important thing is that someone cared enough to make a memorial page to honor that person and that is what findagrave.com is all about. Honoring the deceased, NOT who has what memorial or how many that they have. Thanks!

Brian Zahn
Johann Michael Zahn
Your memorial for the above (Find A Grave Memorial# 110962688) shows a link to a child Jacob Zahn buried in Pleasant Grove Cem in McGregor, IA. I do not know if you made this link or if the person who created Jacob's memorial linked to yours, but it is incorrect. Jacob's father was indeed a Johann Michael Zahn, but his father lived and died in Germany. If you are able to delete the link I would appreciate it.

Thanks!

Memorial Transfer
Old Bones, I want to thank you for transferring Benjamin Day to my account. This means a lot to me to be able to manage this memorial and post little bits of information as they become available.

RE: James & Mary Williams
You are very welcome and thank you for kind words. I love what you posted in your bio section. It really isn't about the numbers. So grateful for those who spend hours upon hours photographing stones. I'm more impressed with number of photos taken than number of memorials managed :)

Happy hunting-Kimberly

Hello
I am interested in doing the updates on Dewey Hartbeck. He was my father. His mother was Nellie Hartbeck nee Fridd and his father was Clarence Hartbeck. His sister was Margaret Hartbeck (Kirby) all buried in next to each other. Thank you Vicki Moorhead

Thank you so much for caring enough to put my brother's memorial up on this site. I'm still very new to the site and was glad to see someone added him. If you don't mind transferring him, I would greatly appreciate it.
