I am married and have 2 children.|
I welcome anyone to contact me who can help with the Daywood side of my family tree. My great great grandparents came to America from Beirut, Lebanon in 1882. I have lots of members I haven't found links to connect them to my branches and would love to get help!!
Other names in my tree include but are not limited too: Ray, Taylor, Jennings, Burleson, Dunnahoo, Joseph, Kanetsky, Lockwood, Romines, and Talk.
I live in Central Texas and don't mind helping anyone who needs help.
I am enjoying adding names and photos and offerings here at findagrave!! ;-)
I am past historian for the newly formed Daughters of the Republic of Texas Chapter Catherine Cynthia Overton , of Manor, Texas.
Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.
WORDS TO THE WISE:
WE COULD LEARN A LOT FROM CRAYONS:
SOME ARE SHARP, SOME PRETTY, SOME DULL.
SOME HAVE WEIRD NAMES AND ARE ALL DIFFERENT COLORS
BUT THEY ALL HAVE TO LIVE IN THE SAME BOX...

|Donna Drosche||Maul C. Reeves|
Could you tell my how you are related to this man?
my great great grandfather - Maul C. Reeves (1849-1878)
my great grandfather- Joseph E. Reeves
my grandmother, Emily Josie Reeves Hendrix
my dad, Joe M. Hendrix
I cannot find anyone before him. Could you help?
His wife was Mary Elizabeth Lockwood. I can trace my family back to Catherine Jennings Lockwood (Ride of Katie Jennings, Texas Revolution) to Gordon Cartwright Jennings (oldest man to die at Alamo, member of Sam Houston's "Old Colony", also served in Revolutionary army).

Thanks for your message and support.
I never entertained there would be so many undocumented burials at P-S.
After I went out there to have a good look around last June, I hadn't entered a single name, but as of this writing, I'm still adding a name a day there. When you compare numbers, P-S was the central burial spot, and Ike Brown, Littig, J.J. Manor Hill, etc., the smaller cemeteries don't come near 500. The Ike Brown cemetery has undergone a huge renovation. Several concerned families pooled their efforts together over the past 17 weeks and completely cleared the area. They're taking steps to get the historic designation, and build a new entrance gate...I can't describe the transformation in words, but I was stunned.
As for Parks Springs...those folks need to get organized soon.
I'm afraid it will cost real money to get any aspect of a restoration done there. Their first hurdle would be removing the decades of trash, large appliances, and tires. I've been out there every week seeking out the hidden stones and photographing them...I estimate I might have covered fifty percent or less of the woods there. Whatever is hiding will have to wait until next Fall.
