I am a born and bred native of Keya Paha County, Nebraska. Much of my family homesteaded here before 1900. I arrived in 1952 when I was born. I have lived here all my life and continue to enjoy the quiet life in Keya Paha County with my husband, Mike. We have four children who have now left the nest and are periodically adding to the family tree with children of their own.|
A few years ago I became interested in genealogy and began to research my family history. Much of the research was done online where I discovered the value of online cemetery transcriptions. I also discovered that Keya Paha County had almost no online information about its cemeteries. Since then I have attempted to transcribe and put online the information from Keya Paha County. If you discover errors in my work, please feel free to contact me via email with the correct information.

OMG Sandi, you are the one that took the pic of my great great grandmother Eliza Lewis monument as well at Mount Hope Cemetary. You are doing such a great service that will be appreciated by generations to come.

Hi Sandi, I tried to submit my great great grandparents Annie & Smith Dennis Sanford as the parents of my great grandmother Maggie S Lewis, wife of Alton D Lewis and for some reason it is not posting the Find A Grave # for Annie is 61479261 and Smith is 61479263 if you read the obit thats posted on Maggies brother John who died in 1959, it shows that his sisters name that preceeded him in death was Mrs Alton Lewis. Im trying to link all my deceased relatives together so any help is appreciated. My other grandmother Lewis is buried in Keya Paha Co as well, her name is Eliza Lewis and its quite a coincidence that both sides of my Grandmothers parents once lived in Keya Paha Co and didnt meet until they were in Utah

I just noticed that you posted Lilian's obituary to her memorial. Thank-you very much. I have a copy but don't know yet how to post them.
Are you related?

You are a jewel! I couldn't believe it when I found your photos of Goodrich cemetery. Aaron is my 2nd great-grandfather. I was poking around, looking for grandfather John D Beeman, when I found the Western Nebraska heritage website. Then I found his farm using township & range, but not burial for John D. So I searched Keya Paha for cemeteries - yea! Mother is from Sumner, NB.

Thanx for all that you do.

Hi, By chance do you know how I would contact the managers of the cemetery? I looked online and cannot see who handles the details of this cemetery. Thanks again.
|K Williams Pennay||John Boyd Grave|
Thanks so much for looking for the grave. He should be buried here but...well, maybe he is not so I will leave his information as it is until I fin out differently. But you are so appreciated because I so thought him and his wife were here because all the records said they were. And as with family research they have hidden away! Thanks again! Kay
I saw your photo request for the August Bechtold in Rest Haven Cemetery at Alpena, SD.
I was there yesterday and my husband I walked the entire cemetery looking for August Bechtold. We were not able to find a headstone for him. We did locate the graves of Amos & Guy Bechtold. The mother listed on the stones was Augusta but that was as close as we could find. Sorry we couldn't be of more help. Tina Miller
