• DUPLICATE MEMORIALS
Before creating a memorial, I do my "homework" by performing a THOROUGH, ONE-TIME ONLY, SITE-WIDE SEARCH for a prior listing. This includes double-checking names, dates, etc and NOT just limiting my searches to cemeteries only!
****************************************************
I'm sure that no one (including ME) appreciates having their FIRST-CREATED memorials "stolen" out from under them (such as when disposition information is not yet listed), make the effort to do a thorough enough search, or to contact the ORIGINAL memorial manager with correct/current disposition information! Sorry folks, but I also include "BURIAL UNKNOWNS" as ORIGINAL creations, if they have the LOWER NUMBER !
****************************************************
I do NOT have the SELFISH attitude of "Yay, I win, you lose, I found the grave first". If I find a "BURIAL UNKNOWN", I send correct disposition info for that entry to the manager who submitted the memorial FIRST, THEREFORE I EXPECT THE SAME COURTESY EXTENDED TO ME! In the spirit of sharing, that is the POLITE and PROPER thing to do!

• TRANSFER REQUESTS (Effective starting Sunday, July 17, 2011)
***** PLEASE READ CAREFULLY, AS THIS IS NON-NEGOTIABLE *****
Out-of-Guidelines Transfer Requests are no longer being honored or acknowledged, due to a really bad experience with another "contributor". Aggressive, Harassing, and/or Repeated requests for Out-of-Guidelines Transfers (especially for the SAME MEMORIAL), are a MAJOR "no-no" with me, and will be reported!

• HONORING VETERANS
I have a soft spot in my heart for veterans, and believe that they deserve our thanks and appreciation!
****************************************************
My beloved late father was a World War II overseas combat vet, and I couldn't be more proud of him!

• MILITARY TITLES
***** PLEASE READ CAREFULLY, AS THIS IS NON-NEGOTIABLE *****
The EXISTING Title (especially in OLDER memorials) is likely the one that was available at the time of the memorial's creation. So if the Title is still correct (regardless of how it appears in the current drop-down list), I PREFER IT TO REMAIN AS IS!
****************************************************
And regarding ADDING military titles ... I do NOT list military titles unless the person "died with their boots on", so-to-speak, or was career/retired military. However, I WILL strive to note it somewhere in the person's bio and/or in the "Marker Inscription" section.

• MY FIND A GRAVE PHILOSOPHIES
The individuals memorialized on Find A Grave meant something to somebody, and I do not take that lightly! All " Virtual Flowers" that I put on memorials are from the heart.
___________________________________________
• NAMING A MEMORIAL
If the deceased never married; the surname goes in the LAST NAME field. The MAIDEN NAME field is only for married persons who took their spouse's LAST NAME.

• SUGGEST A CORRECTION / EDIT REQUESTS, etc
***** PLEASE READ CAREFULLY, AS THIS IS NON-NEGOTIABLE *****
I do NOT criticize, harass, lecture, or otherwise tell other Find A Grave members how they should format any part of their memorials (including if their formatting preferences are different from mine), THEREFORE I EXPECT THE SAME COURTESY EXTENDED TO ME! I am always open to LEGITIMATE and VALID edit requests, but FRIVILOUS edit requests are a waste of my time!
****************************************************
ALWAYS state your VERIFIABLE source(s) when sending me ANY edit requests; otherwise your suggestions are subject to being declined!

• VIRTUAL CEMETERIES / VIRTUAL FLOWERS / PHOTO CAPTIONS
You may want to consider putting memorials in "Virtual Cemeteries", as they are great ways to keep folks "together".
****************************************************
Please keep Bio information out of "Photo Captions" and "Virtual Flowers".
