~ The Rememberers

We are the rememberers, the people left behind to keep the one who's gone from us alive in heart and mind; the people left to cherish and preserve a legacy.
Yes, we are the rememberers . . . and we will always be . . .

"It is now night and all is silent. I am here alone and in silence all my past friends with all my relations fall heavy on my mind.
They are all gone, and too must soon follow.
To be laid in the dust in the silent grave and there to be forever forgotten makes the cold chills run over my whole body.
I have a hope beyond the grave.
That hope is that when I am consigned to my grave, someone on the earth might remember me. "
From the Diary of Joseph Kemp, April 1, 1853

"Their bodies are buried in peace; but their name liveth for evermore."

I was born in Augsburg, Germany, grew up in Northern California. My ancestors are German, English and Scottish . . . settled in Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina and Maryland . . . all rich in history and waiting for me to discover and share our story.

As I research and discover my ancestors, I will add them to Find-a-Grave . . . keeping their memory alive.
