Bio and Links
Bio Photo Howdy neighbors, my name is "J.R." Richardson. In my younger years I was always too busy having fun and working to pay attention to, or ask questions about my ancestors. Now in my older years, after it's too late to ask those questions, I find myself desperately wanting to know more about my past ancestry. And also to pass on this information to my Kids,GrandKids and Great GrandKids,so they will not have to wonder who their ancestors were, how they lived and where they came from .

I live in the "Entertainment Capitol" : LAS VEGAS,Nevada. I enjoy Genealogy which is what led me to this site. Actually, one day while doing some research on my Uncle Marvin (My Father's Oldest Brother)on an ancestry site, there was his name,as a link,at the bottom of the page,so I clicked on it,it went to Google and his name was there as one of the listings that said,"Find A" with it,so I clicked on it and the rest is history. I think this is a great place to honor and remember our loved ones. And to share geneaology information.

A couple of tips if you would like volunteer photographers like me to take cemetery pictures for you. First, if possible, include the grave location -- one way to learn a grave location is to phone the cemetery; if a cemetery with thousands or even tens of thousands of graves has 20 photo requests and the volunteer has only an hour or two to take photographs, we are likely to select first the requests that include the grave location. Second, if you want multiple photographs (e.g., husband and wife), list both/all of them; we volunteers feel we are more helpful the more pictures we take, so we are likely to choose first a pair of requests.

Thanks, and have an awesome day.

Genealogy is my Past time
I shall not stray
It maketh me to lie down
And examine half-buried tombstones
It leadeth me into still courthouses
It restoreth my Ancestral Knowledge
It leadeth me into the Paths of Census Records
And ships Passenger lists for my names sake
Yes, though I wade through the Shadows of Research Libraries
and Microfilm Readers
I shall fear no Discouragement
For a Strong urge is with me
The curiosity and Motivation
They comfort me
It demandeth preparation of Storage Space
For the Acquisition of Countless Documents
It annointeth my Head with burning Midnight Oil
My family Group sheet runneth over
Surely birth, marriage and death dates
Shall follow me all the Days of my Life
And I shall dwell in the House of a
Family History Seeker Forever.

I wish to express my gratitude to all those very kind and genealogy conscious people who add the links and make the changes I have suggested.

Maiden names for the women is especially important and will aid all future researchers. Family names for the women often get lost when they marry. Listing 1st and 2nd husbands also is very important.

My goal is to link all family members together: parents, spouses and children. This will enable any and all researchers to find family members and complete their research for all generations. Future generations will then be able to connect with their past.

Due to many conflicts of interest from family members, we will no longer accept information from a F.A.G. VISITOR.

FYI - I do have headstone photos for most of my listings. I am behind in adding them to the memorials. If I do not have a photo posted yet or a correction needs to be made, please go to the Memorial page and Click on the Edit Button at the top of the page and then click on the Suggest A Correction leave me a message. Thanks,J R

A funny thing happened on the way to the Forum. I stopped at a cemetery and my life has never been the same. Someone, long ago, predicted my fascination about burial plots. It seems on the day I was born, my parents looked gravely at me. The doctor picked me up by the heels and slapped my mother and made her cry. Life started out not quite right! Thus I went to cemeteries and became a grave whisperer.

I volunteer for Find A Grave to honor our past and to breathe life into the memories of our ancestors. I volunteer to ensure that your relatives and mine are not forgotten.

In everyone there is the urge to discover the events of their family's history. The really fortunate ones get their wish.

"And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count; it's the Life in your years." ~~~Abraham Lincoln

There's an angel on my shoulder,
Though I've never heard her sing,
I know she keeps me safe each day
And close beneath her wing.
My angel does not
Play a harp or rest
In clouds all day.
She's much too busy
Guarding me,
Keeping me from
Harm's way.
She rejoices in
My life's success
And weeps when
I'm in pain.
She picks me up
When I have failed
And helps me try again.
Tonight I'll say a prayer for her,
And thank the Lord above
For sending me an angel
To lead me with her love.

Thanks very much for your efforts to fulfill a photo request for my uncle David. My apologies if you were inconvenienced. I got that info directly from his death certificate. I'll make some calls and see if I can't get to the bottom of this. Thanks again!

Ernie Wheelwright Update
Find A Grave, used my memorial with the dup bio, since it followed "famous persons" bios guideline.

Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks for the heads up. I personally feel CS does this on purpose by his/her disclaimer: "I DO NOT have the ability to make corrections, only administrators. Also, FAMOUS ENTRIES ARE NOT DETERMINED BY WHO GETS THEM IN FIRST, NOR BY THE MEMORIAL NUMBER ORDER. The administrators make the decision on which bio fits their standards." Also,I feel his first wife link was copied from my memorial, cause unless you know the family (like me, my cousins) you would not know about Peggy, who remarried back in the 70s. I wrote Find A Grave but they may think his bio fits a famous people, personally I didn't think of Ernie as being nationwide famous just a hometown famous here in Columbus.
