Your tombstone stands among the rest;|
Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.

If anyone has an addition or correction to anything I have posted please contact me and I will quickly correct it. I am more than happy to turn over ownership to anyone who requests it. AND PLEASE IF YOU SEE THAT I HAVE ENTERED A NAME TWICE, PLEASE TELL ME ABOUT IT. It is easy to make a duplicate without realizing it.
Also -- another FindAGrave contributor wrote this... I think it says it all:
Please note: This is NOT a numbers game, Nor a "who has who" game here. Some of us are serious about getting names & photos of headstones that are not going to be around and making memorial pages. That is what this is about, making/recording that person lived and died. Like many, I spend long, long hours either in a cemetery, or adding memorial pages to Findagrave.com. I would love to see some of the headstones of family members that were in the 1700 & 1800 of my family, but that isn't going to happen as many are gone.
It doesn't matter who has the memorial page, the important thing is that someone cared enough to make a memorial page to honor that person and that is what findagrave.com is all about. Honoring the deceased, NOT who has what memorial or how many that they have. Thanks!

I have updated the pages of Delilah Wills Beckley and the rest of her family in Mount Hope Cemetery, Topeka. I have also sent copies of the pages to the cemetery office for their files.
Thank you for the edits you sent for Delilah's page.

|Mary Ann Holderman||thanks|
I wanted to thank you for promptly updating the info on my grandmother. I didn't know if you wanted to add it or not, but Frank J. and Mathilda S. Burke had a daughter Myrna F. Burke born in 1911 died in 1918, and another son, my dad, Frank J. Burke, Jr., born in 1920 died in 2002. I appreciate your efforts.
|Mary Ann Holderman||Mathilda Burke|
she is my grandmother and died in February 1976 and is buried in Glendive, MT where she was living at the time of her death. My dad Frank J. Burke, Jr., and mom, Mary E. Burke are buried along side of her. She is buried with the name Mathilda M., but with the help of Ancestry.com, I found out that her middle name is actually Sophie.
|mikeincleveland||John Dillon/Elmwood Detroit|
I'm a descendent of John Dillon #75289763 who is buried in Elmwood Cemetery in Detroit. You were so amazing to have included his grave in here ahead of time. I have been researching he and his family for over 15 years so I was amazed that he was already on Find a Grave.
Is there any way his memorial could be transferred over to me? He's my 3x great grandfather on my mom's side.
I live in Cleveland and have all of the records from Elmwood as to the location of his grave and I plan to finally make it up there to Detroit this summer to pay my respects.
Let me know either way. Hope you are well.
