I am researching the family records for Lindsey from PA to TX, Colwell, Sheldon, Ermel, Kleckner from PA to CO, Hunter, Bray, Alford, Eads, Vaneman, Ivey and Stevens just for starters. Lindsey's and Vaneman's settled in Washington County, PA around 1750.|

You are welcome. Happy to be able to do that for you.

I can answer that concern for you, Roy. The only information I had on this lady was from the headstone. I believe the information Find A Grave prefers to use is from that headstone. They have particular guidelines for how to list surnames when there were multiple marriages, and those guidelines don't seem to always correlate with the data inscribed on the monument. I have added nearly 3,000 memorials to this cemetery since I started, and nearly all the individuals are (and remain) unknown to me, so there was no other source of details available. I've had many generous volunteers add details to those memorials, and I'm very grateful for the time and effort each has extended. I'm sorry you had troubles finding this lady, but I'm glad you persisted. For the "final" answer, I think we'd have to ask whoever authorized the wording and specific details on the headstone. Usually the facts are correct, but I've run into a handful of clearly erroneous details. Guess it's the nature of the beast!

Roy, I'm pleased to turn over the reins for this memorial to you. I'm so glad this lovely lady is back in the care of family...as she should be! Encountering requests such as yours make my day, and each inquiry just reinforces how much good FindAGrave does for the community. Enjoy!

|Joe||Photo request for Mary Morrison in Washington Cemetery|
I am sorry to advise you that there is no marker in Lot 21, Range I, Block 2 of the Washington Cemetery for Mary Morrison. However, I will use a photo that shows the empty space in Lot 21 to fulfill your photo request. There will be a descriptive caption with the photo (need to click on the photo to see the caption). If you are not satisfied with the photo, please let me know and I will remove it.

|Joe||RE: Andrew Lindsey|
My pleasure, Roy. In regard to your question about the large Lindsey stone, it was common practice in this cemetery for a family to have a large stone with the surname and individual ground level markers . The markers were normally in a row or rows on one side of the large stone, or in some cases on both sides of the stone. In the case of the Lindsey stone, there was a row of 8 markers for 8 members of the Lindsey family. In addition to fulfilling your request for Andrew, I added a photo of the marker for Agnes, his wife, to her existing memorial. Also, I created memorials with photo's for Ida, John, William, & Florence Lindsey plus Mary Lindsey Burig and Charles Burig.

Is the birth date and place on the tombstone(it's kind of hard to read.) If not, what is the source? I'm a Thompson and believe our families are related and that both moved from Cumberland County to Washington County.
|Herman Weiland||Carol Jean Lindsey Eads|
Thanks for the picture and remembrances of Carol.
We graduated together at Clayton HS
|Ruth Armstrong Pohl||Martha Lindsay|
I removed my husband's Find A Grave memorial for Martha Lindsay as you did have more information than he had on his memorial.
|Lana Barnett||Clarence Hailey Long|
Respectively I submit to you that the name you have listed as Clarence Hoover Long is incorrect. The proper name is Clarence Hailey Long and he is the original Marlboro Man.
