Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am interested in getting my ancestors graves in this site, and am willing to take pictures in central South Dakota when the weather cooperates, not going to dig through snow to take pictures or to try to find graves, or wade through mud.
I give my full permission for people to use all the pictures I have taken of stones and put on Find A Grave..

Mills - Graceland Cemetery
Thought I would also let you know that on the backside of the Mills surname stone is the surname Gerritsen. I took pictures of those stones as well, in case they are part of those you are looking for.

Benjamin Mills - Graceland Cemetery
Annastasia had a headstone, and Benjamin should have been right next to her but there was no headstone. I did upload the surname stone to his memorial.

RE: Poppen at Spirit Lake, SD

It was my pleasure to take the photo. I did take pictures of the whole cemetery when I was there, and I am working on uploading them, so keep checking back :-) . I also discovered another complication that I am working on correcting. The earliest burials in that cemetery were recorded by the WPA as being in the German Presbyterian Cemetery (also Kingsbury County, SD). Those are set up in a cemetery with that name, but are actually in the same cemetery as Spirit Lake. Hopefully we can get them consolidated, but for now, both Henry A. Poppen and Infant Poppen are in German Presbyterian. There are also some graves that hadn't been added to Spirit Lake. I have about 68 more pictures to upload, and hope to have them done soon.

Best regards,

Brenda Hahn

RE: Mason's from SD and Ozark, AR
That's nice of you, but I am not kin to any of the Mason family. I just photograph cemeteries and create memorials for them. But thanks anyway.

RE: Laverne Claassen stone photo
Well I found the memory stick with the register on it. I do not know when this was last updated but the Claussens it shows being buried there are:
Betty, Clara, Jerry, John, John L, Lena and Luverne. They don't give dates on the register. I would say go ahead and post a photo request if you know of any of these people and next time I go out that way I would be happy to do the photo requests. Or someone else might do it before I get a chance to which is fine. If you do a photo request I will then remember you wanted them.

RE: Laverne Claassen stone photo
I wish I had known about these requests when I was at the cemetery.. it is about a half hour to forty five minute drive from where I live. However they have a wonderful board at the cemetery that lists the people buried there. I am certain I saw other Claassens buried there.. I also am certain I photo graphed the board and have it somewhere on my memory sticks.. I will try to look for it and see if I can find them.. I will let you know.

Hi Ellen
Your virtual cemetery for duplicates is a good idea. If you have the time, your next step would be to pair the Find A Grave #'s together and have Findagrave merge them. Send an email to asking them to merge them. Super way to gather together a bunch of duplicates.
