2023 brought internal infections I had to fight and now 2024 has brought me problems with my back that may or may not be Lyme Disease or any number of things (woo, more tests and doctor visits!)

I am still a full-time caregiver to my Mom who battles many health issues. I am a full time house-wife, all while trying to be a full time genealogist. Please, please, I ask of you to be kind, understanding, and patient.

I unfortunately don't have the same amount of time to devote to Find-a-Grave that I had years ago when I began. I still am active here and try my best to keep up with e-mails, but sometimes I'm getting 100+ in a single day.

If I have the parents memorial and someone else has the child, that someone else has to link them. My name is Brecca Mefford. I'm 31 years old and I've been doing genealogy since I was 7 years old (2000). I have about 118,900 people in my Ancestry tree and it's growing every day. I'm on a personal mission to figure out how I'm related to every single person buried in Henderson County. I'm about 40% of the way there! :)

My Mefford's are from Muhlenberg County, Ky (and surrounding areas), but my Mother is a Blanford from here in Henderson County. My direct lines here in Henderson are Blanford, LaRue, Sandefur, Thompson, Gibson, Nally, Byrd, and more.

I really do have to credit the Gibson Cemetery (in Corydon, KY) with being the creation of my obsession with small family cemeteries. I've been infatuated with it ever since I first visited in the end of 2000.

My DNA is on Ancestry, 23andme, ftDNA, and MyHeritage. I'm also on GEDMatch -- I'm kit # A523391.
