Hello from New Mexico.|
I've been excavating and cataloging pioneer cemeteries for over 30 years. In the 1980s I even published a few works on the subject. Like most of you, I'm also an avid genealogist. While I enjoy finding the graves of famous people, I'm more interested in the common soldier and pioneer. Every one of them has a story.
As for genealogy, I am currently working on the surnames Trine, Minter, Dozier, Shackleford and Marquez. I'm also collecting the names and graves of the Maryland 6th Infantry.
I'm usually "on the road," so my photos come from wherever I happen to be. I've had the pleasure of meeting hundreds of wonderful people who share this love for history. Contact me if I can be of any help to you.
ABOUT TRANSFERS: I am happy to transfer anyone who is not my direct ancestor.

Good Morning EddieM
Thank you for your efforts is locating the grave of Margaret Carlon. I feel that you went the extra mile to provide this photo. At least this marker has a home for future genealogist. I will keep the request for Rpbert open as you suggested.

From the obit on her page, my guess would be that he is buried back in Ill, most likely in or near Peoria.

You're welcome. Glad to help. I also checked a couple of markers on each side of hers but no John Simpson.

Do you live near the 'Burg ??? The information on Lawrence Montague was in the Martinsburg Journal ... the Berkeley County Historical Society has the issue on microfilm ... they are open on Thursday and Fridays ...

At his daughters request, he was exhumed and moved to a cemetery in Washington, DC. You can contact the Berkeley County Historical Society, in Martinsburg, for additional information.

Awesome, thanks Eddie. I will check out those resources.
I'm working on a television show and would be willing to pay your cousin for permission to use the photos of the Walsh's. I'd need to get it squared away this as soon as possible though. My direct line is 570-439-1175 or she can email me at email@example.com

Wow that's incredible. Thanks for making the information available to other researchers. Would you be able to put me in contact with your cousin? I'm actually doing some research in West Virginia right now. My email information is available in my bio.
I also reached out to Doran/Walsh/Gallagher.

Was wondering where you tracked down the photos of the Walsh girls. Been doing a lot of research on the family and thought you might be able to share your source with me.
