|Ernie Givans||John H West|
My maternal great grandmother is Sarah Ellen West and her father is listed as John H West from Pope County IL. Her mother is listed as Mary C Ross from Oldham County, KY. I found this on Sarah's marriage certificate to Jacob Oller. They were married in the home of E.B. West in Grayson County Feb 7, 1905. She was born in 1885. In 1990 Census, I find Sarah E at 15 living with her dad John H West and his parents in Grayson County. I think I read that he was widowed by that time. I've had a hard time finding anything on Mary C Ross. I was wondering if the poor man was widowed twice.

First, I want to thank you for your effort. I appreciate it a bunch! As it turns out I now have a teaching job at FT Knox. I am so excited to be closer to where my ancestors once lived and possibly locate some living cousins here in Kentucky. Do you know how far the cemetary is from FT. Knox? I know I am not far from Lietchfield and Grayson county where a lot of them settled. As soon as we are settled in I plan to do some exploring. This is my first time in Kentucky accept for many years ago when I attended an extended family reunion with people who I was related to by marriage but lost connections with them.
