Biggest Joys about Findagrave:
--Traveling to cemeteries and photographing grave markers;
--Personal satisfaction when my entries are researched, entered correctly, and nicely presented;
--Discovering burial and genealogy info on my own extended family;
--Helping others in their research; and
--Connecting with other Findagravers.

Biggest Headaches about Findagrave:
--Duplicate entries made by those who don't take time to perform a general search;
--Maiden names entered for children, unmarried women, and even men;
--Partial entry submittals (and subsequent duplicate);
--Multiple marriage names entered in surname field (please put name at time of death and explain other married names in bio or by links);
--Names entered all in capitals (shouting) or all in lower case (illiterate).

Critical Findagrave Improvements
Findagrave - We need a Dupe Checker tool so we can check:
--our own entries for duplicates,
--own entries against general database.
A million entries are being added every few weeks. It is tedious and difficult to check our own entries for duplicates once we get past about a thousand entries. The process to upload spreadsheet entries to a cemetery screens out lots of duplicates, but isn't effective for single entries. This Contributor Tool would help weed out millions of duplicates and spare us from receiving emails from others about our dupes.

Here's another suggestion. List the most populous 2-3 cities for each U.S. state at the top of the pull-down menu. Chicago, Denver, Honolulu, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York City, and Seattle (to name a few) should be at top of the list. Most of a state's population lives (and dies) in the dominant cities so make it easier for us and minimize needless scrolling.

Thanks to all out there who:
--are helpful, enthusiastic, and courteous to other volunteers,
--send me corrections, obits, links, and other information to add to my entries,
--check their own work,
--keep up with edits, corrections, and suggestions from other contributors, and
--provide newspaper or website citations for obits so others can use this info.

I typically respond within 24 hrs and consider transfers to remote family members as long as I'm not a relative or have a special connection to the individual. Thanks for all the messages I've received over the years. I like a tidy work space and remove them when requests have been completed.

We're Cousins
Cori,
First, I apologize if I have previously contacted you. (My old records cannot be trusted). According to my Tree Program, you are my 5th cousin, through the Aichele line. It appears we were both born in Seattle, if my data is to be believed. I'd like to compare family data, if you have the time and inclination.
Drop me a line, if you get a chance. Schremserdc@yahoo.com Dan Schremser, Kingston, WA

Joseph Arthur George Bilodeau Date of Death
Hi Cori,

I came upon this record from the work you did here on find a grave. Great work! Joseph Arthur George Bilodeau is my great grandfather. The family has NOT known his death of death and location. I see the date you have here matches his cousin who has similar name. Are you able to advise the source of your info for his date of death?

His father, Onesime has a brother named GEORGE Anselme Theodule Bilodeauand. The family moved to Wisconsin. He has a son Arthur George Bilodeau whose birth date is Birth 26 MAR 1883 and date of death 4 MAY 1937 Chetek, Barron, Wisconsin, United States which is the same date you have for my great grandfather.

Thanks for any info you can share on the source.
Best regards
Debbie

congrats!
Congrats Cori for being here 11 years! It was nice to work with a pleasant uncranky person like you! I have read some contributor bios lately and am happy I do not have to communicate with them. This should be a HAPPY PLACE! Keep up the good work. Thanks,
Rosalie from Wenatchee, WA

Thank you
I want to thank you for your work. Without your contribution I would have never found my Grandfathers grave site. He had died in Carson City, Nevada and I couldn't find it there after he died.
But it was only logical that he would be buried in Mammoth, AZ after living there for so many years of his life. I have sent u a request to update the information that you had posted originally. Also, I added the only photo I had of him from years ago. My family thanks you. And I am encouraged by your work to do the same in return for others that may be looking for loved one.
Thanks again and may God Bless You !!!

RE: Checking progress on this end
Yours and others contributions to the Crown Hill Cemetery data clean-up is greatly appreciated. When others share the same goal of making the information as correct as possible, great things can happen. I know from experience that finding maiden name corrections is VERY tedious and requires many hours of studying each and every entry. I'm working on getting access to more detailed internment records from the cemetery office. I was there today and secured copies of all section maps and I'm working on getting full access to their burial records. This is a HUGH cemetery and it will take years to fill in all the gaps. Thanks again for your continued contributions.
