Mary Anna Lesher (Hetzel
She was the daughter of David Lesher and Elizabeth Rollman. I am going to transfer her to you but will explain. She married Godfrey Hetzel. In 1807, a group of church members of the St. John's Lutheran Reformed in Pine Grove, Schyikill Co., Pennsylvnaia left to Montgomery Co., Ohio. It took them 3 months! Anyway, when they got to Montgomery Co., The Hetzel family of Johannes Peter Hetzel 1775 and his father, John Peter Hetzel 1742 started the Salem-Hetzel church (Zion Lutheran in Montgomery Co.) The reason for the move was for the men to pick out the land that they wanted when the land grants for the Rev War were passed out. That came in 1820. Among the families were the Lesther, Nieble, Schnepp and Apple's. They were a small group and they started marrying into each other. Mary Anna married Goefrey Hetzel and my family was the Hetzel and Schnepp/Snapp family. It is a great story I think and Mary Anna needs to be with you. I did not research down the Lesher line and now I am sorry that I did not. So was happy to find you. Oh, part of that story is that when they got as far as Cinninnti or however you spell it, there were 16 cabins there.

Any way, good luck with your family.

Linda Morris (Schnepp/Hetzel/Apple)

Parents of Catherine Hostetler
When I was passing through graves, I came upon this entry. According to the "Descendants of Jacob Hochstetler" and my family records, She was NOT married to Jacob Hochstetler, but rather to William Hochstetler, pages 518,519.

Also, just to add, her daughter, Christina, was married twice. The first marriage, for only a year to Alonzo Lyman Tomlinson. They had a son, Alonzo Lyman Tomlinson. He died a year after marriage and she remarried to Charles Allman and had a lot of children. I am a direct descendant of Alonzo.

William must have had a lot of portraits passed around. He shows up in books and likely in many families as he showed up in ours too.

any questions feel free to ask.

Nina,
Please go to your Edit tab then use the Display drop-down menu to select "Edits I have sent that were declined". Scroll thru the pages until you find the ones I declined. I remember one had a woman as Sarah's father. In addition, I do not want to link to Anna's memorial until her Maiden Name entry is corrected to Find A Grave's "Naming Conventions". I submitted that Edit on 6/26/2016. Also, I would greatly appreciate if you would provide a source document for the relationship, in accordance with the last paragraph of FAQ 169.

Wells inquiry
Thanks for your answer. From Robert's online obituary, it does seem that he had at least two brothers. If you know any of his relatives who might still be living in the same area, we would really like to contact them about the brother who served in Europe in WW II in our dad's division.
