My name is Brenda (Boyer) Kohr. My husband Pete and I are researching his side of the family (Kohr/Smith)&(Minnich/Buxton), as well as my own (Boyer/Grimes) & (Beil/Shott). We are not trying to see how many memorials we can amass so that we can have our numbers posted in the "Top Contributors" catagory. We want to make memorials to pay tribute to our families and friends and hopefully help others to find theirs.|
We enjoy helping others by photographing grave markers. There are times that we may photograph markers that are near the ones we were asked to take photos of, or if we see one with our surnames. If there is no memorial for these extra photos that we take....I create one. If by chance I happen to create a memorial for a relative or a friend of yours don't hesitate to ask for a transfer. I don't feel the need to keep memorials that I have created. (unless they are family) I only created them so that someone may find a member of their family or a friend.
Your tombstone stands among the rest
Neglected and alone
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished marble stone
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood and bone
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so
I wonder if you lived and loved
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot
And come to visit you
Those we love don't go away,
They walk beside us every day,
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear.

I found your photo of this man's grave. ( http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=78221675&ref=acom) He is the husband of my 2nd great aunt. She is listed as buried in the same cemetery. Her maiden name was Susan (or Susanna) Warner 1855-1934.
If you are still active in doing this, could you check for her grave site? I would appreciate it.

Brenda & Pete, thanks so much for transferring Edmund and Jane to me. I also wanted to say how great the photos you added for Edmund and daughter Sarah are (and Sarah's obit). I don't know where you found it all, but I think it really helps to have the faces and info for anyone searching for them in the future.
Thanks for all the work you've done for this findagrave community-it's much appreciated.
