My name is Brenda (Boyer) Kohr. My husband Pete and I are researching his side of the family (Kohr/Smith)&(Minnich/Buxton), as well as my own (Boyer/Grimes) & (Beil/Shott). We are not trying to see how many memorials we can amass so that we can have our numbers posted in the "Top Contributors" catagory. We want to make memorials to pay tribute to our families and friends and hopefully help others to find theirs.|
We enjoy helping others by photographing grave markers. There are times that we may photograph markers that are near the ones we were asked to take photos of, or if we see one with our surnames. If there is no memorial for these extra photos that we take....I create one. If by chance I happen to create a memorial for a relative or a friend of yours don't hesitate to ask for a transfer. I don't feel the need to keep memorials that I have created. (unless they are family) I only created them so that someone may find a member of their family or a friend.
Your tombstone stands among the rest
Neglected and alone
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished marble stone
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood and bone
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so
I wonder if you lived and loved
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot
And come to visit you
Those we love don't go away,
They walk beside us every day,
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear.

1832 - 1887 I do not think Mary Ann Smith is her mother as i first thought, there is 14 years difference in ages. And i've worked on this several hours tonight and i can not find this. I am sorry that i jumped on this but i really think they maybe sisters.

Thank you for transferring my grandparents to me! Thank you, also, for taking pictures and posting them in the first place! I am also a Find A Grave volunteer and take lots of pictures in my area, but I can't get to PA often.

I tried sending this thru the edit but don't know if it went through. In The Philadelphia Inquirer(PA) Sun, May 3, 1925, Pg 3. YORK -- William A. Selak, 59, died at his home in this city today of complications. He is survived by his wife and the following children: Paul, Catharine, Herbert, Genevieve and Joseph Selak, all of this city. [Note: I have Paul as Paul Mathias and Herbert as Herbert Francis and have seen Catharine as also Catherine or Kathryn]
