Memories of You (#46983035)

Bio and Links
Bio Photo "Memories of You" was a pop song published in 1930 (lyrics by Andy Razaf; music by Eubie Blake). It was best popularized by the incomparable Benny Goodman and his orchestra. My Dad used to practice it at home on his clarinet when I was a kid, though I never knew what it was called back then, and didn't know the lyrics. Now every time I hear that tune, it brings back my memories of those happy days, and memories of my father and other loved ones gone ahead.

It's been said that no one is finally dead until he is forgotten. Another thought along these lines runs: You are not really dead until after your name is spoken aloud on earth for the last time.

At every gravesite, no matter how old, how poorly marked, how long forgotten, there lies the memory of a precious life lived with a beginning, a middle, an end, and a story worth telling and remembering. Each tombstone marks a significant day of human sorrow. And around most every tombstone was once gathered the unbreakable force of love.

Findagrave and its volunteers are here to respect those memories and to help keep those individual stories and names alive, whenever possible. Each memorial made here is for one more person who is gone but not forgotten.

Turn Again To Life
by Mary Lee Hall

If I should die and leave you here awhile
be not like others sore undone,
who keep long vigil by the silent dust.
For my sake turn again to life and smile,
nerving thy heart and trembling hand
to do something to comfort others than mine.
Complete these dear unfinished tasks of mine
and I perchance may therein comfort you.

RE: Dehnke from Denke
You are very welcome! Denke is one of my main lines of research, which is how I found your memorial. I appreciate the work you do to put these wonderful memorials on-line.

I photographed the headstone today. It clearly is Rebecca wife of Dea. Joshua Goodwin. She is buried near four Gooden's. Possibly why the mistake. Rebecca also has a memorial #139556077. The information there is mostly correct, except for the cemetery. She is listed with many other Goodwins though not buried there, as per Londonderry Cemetery Board. I added the picture to the memorial at Sunnyside with the notation that it was taken at Valley Cemetery.
Hopefully this can be corrected

RE: Phebe's obit
you are very welcome for obit...if you still have the email, would you copy and paste the obit and send to me? I did not keep a copy and I had to manually transcribe from the newspaper - I'm trying to avoid typing it again, no trouble if you don't...thanks again.

no relation that I know of. I do have an Eliza (Turner) Bennett wife of Jonas Bennett of Worthington, Becket, Dalton areas of Mass. but have very little info on them other than gravesites of children George and Georgetta 53033346 & 53033831
best wishes in your research.
