I was born in Vaiden, MS, on Dec. 31, 1954 to Alf Trotter Collins and Juanita Hambrick Collins.|
I lived in Vaiden, MS until 1979, Winona, MS until 1981, when I moved to Jackson, MS. In 1990, I moved to Florence, MS, where I still reside.
I have two wonderful sons, Sean and Cody, and I worked as a Level 2 Computer Field Technician for AmSouth Bank, In-House Technician for Trustmark Bank and Field Technician for CompuCom servicing 10 Lowe's stores in Mississippi.
I have an A.A. Degree in Pre-Law; a B.S. Degree in History with a Minor in English; and a Master of Social Sciences with an emphasis in History.
I have written and maintain 240+ web pages, including listings of the burials in the Vaiden Mississippi Cemetery (White) and the Vaiden Community Cemetery (African-American).
So far, my family history has been traced back to my 14th Generation Grandfather, John Collins I, who was the keeper of the Gael (prison) for King Charles I of England (son of James I - of the King James Bible fame). Other relatives include another King (Elvis).
Other hobbies include motorcycles, making music as a drummer, historical research, adding entries to Find-a-Grave (since 08/11/2000), and watching and collecting DVDs.
PLEASE CHECK FIRST TO SEE IF ENTRIES HAVE ALREADY BEEN ADDED AND MAKE SURE THAT ANY MARKER PHOTOS AND DATES ARE LEGIBLE.

You are very welcome.
|Enid Jamison||RE: Wrong Marker for this Memorial|
What is her name and what cemetery is she in.
|Margaret Webb||McNemar #5831406|
I mistakenly hit the fulfill button for this memorial. I had taken a picture of his brother's and not his. However, the military tombstone is the only marker for him. He is basically at the foot of his brother William's grave. Sorry for the mistake. Didn't know if you wanted to request a photo again, but there is not another marker for him to solve the spelling problem.
|George Kirkman||Leslie "Popeye" Charping|
Yes, it is a duplicate, but I won't delete it. I'll let some site administrator do that. Mine gives much more details based on his obituary. What's the purpose of Find A Grave? To see who can get their first with the most grave sites or to preserve a person history? After reading the story of his life they way his family wrote it, this is probably the way the want him to be remembered.
|Daniel Qualls||Leslie Ray Charping|
Thank you for the duplication notification on Mr Charping. When I typed in his name it wouldn't come up in the search for some reason or other. I have deleted my memorial.
|Glen Foster||RE: Still searching for Josie|
I just talked with Earnest Tillman and Dora Collins granddaughter and she stated her grandmother sold the property in the early 1950's. She said that Interstate 55 ran right through the property. She did not know if the house was moved are not. The pictures you have are color photos? Did they have color photos in the early 50's? A relative of yours wants to talk with you. How can I give you that information privately.
|Ronald H. Livingston||Lucinda Lewis, daughter of James|
I see you have done extensive research on the Lewis family of Cass County, Texas; Winn Parish, Louisiana; Choctaw County, Mississippi; and Bibb County, Alabama. On the 1860 census for Winn Parish, Louisiana, is Benjamin Franklin Tullos and family. His wife was Dorcas Lewis, daughter of James Lewis and Nancy (Thrailkill) Lewis. Three households down is the family of Alexander K. Livingston, son of Elizabeth Livingston who in 1850 was in Marion County, Arkansas. (I cannot conclusively find the name of Allec's father.) Allec was the husband of Lucinda Lewis, who married Allec in Conway County, Arkansas, on 5 April 1855. She died there during the war.
|Frank||RE: Sarah Jane Street McCorkle|
Thank you for the reply. I agree with your thought it might be in a private cemetery.

|Frank||Sarah Jane Street McCorkle|
Sarah McCorkle (1822-1891) was my Great Grand Mother. I located a picture of her head stone on the internet but could not confirm the location.
It was noted as being in the Armstrong Cemetery, Wolf Lake, Yazoo County, MS. I cannot find any record of this cemetery. My question is are you acquainted with this area and are you related to this family.
Any information would be appreciated.

|Susan Sudduth||Mattie Johnson Sproles Rickson|
I located this record #23476848 and I believe this lady is my paternal great grandmother. I believe Mattie and William Sproles were the parents of Mattie Myrtle Sproles (b. 1894) in Vaiden, MS. I am trying to locate any records on them I can find. If you can give me any information on Mattie and William Sproles I would be deeply grateful.
