I enjoy researching my Armenian genealogy and that of others. My listings started out as mainly just relatives, but has since expanded to various others I have either researched or came across at cemeteries and found to be of interest. Let me know if you have any Armenian relatives or questions about them.

Thanks for the info. I have seen that obit before, but I'm just not sure who's buried there, so did not want to add info that might be incorrect. Somebody did tell me that stone was brought from Armenia. There is another name on it as well - will have to look next time I'm over there.

Garabed Jerrehian 70542635
A small thing. In Garabed's Bio you list his address as 3735 Walnut St. and that he was a rug dealer at Jerrehian Brothers. Jerrehian Brothers was at 3731 Walnut Street. I worked in the rug cleaning department from 1967 to 1970 when they moved to Wynnewood, PA. The building was torn down to make way for a parking garage, I believe. The residence next door was 3733 Walnut st. and can be shown by researching Aram Jerrehian in the 1930 U.S. Census. The enumerator's hand made it possible to mistake 3733 as 3735. Garabed is listed on line #79 an alien who immigrated in 1898. The transcriber for this listing typed Jarrehian, seems the enumerator didn't make it clear that the second letter was an "e". Jerrehian is a transliteration of a name in the Armenian alphabet. Others coming through Ellis Island ended up with Jarrehian on their papers.

Little things like this can lead to discoveries. We just need to know about the details. Thank you for your time.

John Avedian
Hi again
If I'm not mistaken I helped you with a search for a burial in Yerevan (Arapkir) back in 2009 through facebook. I stumbled upon your profile because of a memorial that matched the name of someone I'm researching (Stephen Mirakian) but after reading the bio I don't think it's the same person as my Stephen lived in Toledo, OH in 1919. Anyway hope you're doing well!
