Yes, I believe we are directly related. My COOK side came from Litchfield CT..lived there several generations and also in or around Hartford. My dad's name is Edwin Gilbert Cook, his father before him ,and his father before that...I was to be E.G the fourth ..but Dad hated the Gilbert name so much as he took a lot of heat for it in school because his name at home was Gilbert due to that JR/SR thing in the household..and his name on the school roles.. in the 1930s in Tacoma, Wa and he hated being called Gilbert.....so then he refused to name me that name in 1951 .....caused a lot of strife with his parents BTW. ..LOL.. I Hope you are mending up and getting well...please respond when you can or feel like it ...Alan Cook, Kennewick, Wa US

Would you be willing to transfer this memorial to me? Sylvester Stewart was my 3rd great grandfather on my father's side. His daughter Charlotte was the mother of my great grandmother Alma E Goodrich.

Are you also a "" Caroline Gilbert "" ? One of my 3rd gr grandmothers was Caroline Gilbert - Cook , youngest daughter of Joseph and Miriam Hopkins-Gilbert born in 1799 in Litchfield Ct. She married Norman Cook in New York , both families were originally from Harwinton, Litchfied , Ct. from this three men were named Edwin Gilbert Cook, the last one is my father. Regards, Alan S.
