Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been working on my family history for 25 years. All of my ancestors are of German descent. The majority settled in Saginaw, Sebewaing and Scio Township, Michigan, even though there are family members scattered throughout the world. Genealogy is a never ending journey. That's what makes it so exciting! IT'S ALL IN THE JOURNEY!

Mary Fisher
Rev Spring
Hi. Thank you for all your contributions to FindaGrave, esp the picture of Rev Christian & Sophia Spring, our sil's gggrandparents. I believe her maiden name was Hutzel. There are several birthrecords & city directories with the Hutzel family listed together. May we please use the picture, with credit to you, on our private family tree?
Are you related? I can connect you with their granddaughter Janice if so.

Memorial # 149068979
I'm wondering if you have a source for the reason you have Etienne Lafond listed as Etienne Pepin? His marriage (de La Fond) and burial records don't mention Pepin as a surname or dit name, and I didn't see a reason mentioned in the biography on his memorial page. It will be easier for his descendants to find him if he's listed as Lafond.

Stephen and Leonard Krause
Benjamin Leonard "Lennie" Krause (Find A Grave #148342664), Helen Bean Krause (Find A Grave #147976253), Stephen Holden "Steve" Krause (Find A Grave #148343219) and Leonard Holden Krause (Find A Grave #148342914) are all on the same stone.

I noticed that you put up photo requests for Stephen and Leonard.

Since there are already a photo for the parent's memorials maybe you can ask Kevin Conroy (#48587638) to also post his pic to Leonard and Steven's.

It would save a whole lot of "stone searching".

RE: Antoine Leduc
Yes, I did read the whole "letter" to Antoine who died over 325 years ago. It also starts out like this and is filled with this sort of "information":

I know that you were a coureur de bois, which during the French Regime meant someone who traded without a license. It is not difficult for me to imagine you running the rapids, standing in the stern of a three-man canoe, guiding your craft down the white water through a passage no more than several feet wide. One false stroke or too weak a turn of your wrist at the critical moment would mean disaster. You signal your companions, there is no time for thought as your canoe speeds into the eddying rush. Faster and faster you go, your eyes trying to absorb the rushing scene, the rocks, the big green cone of water, the tumultuous rising and sinking of the foaming waves. The smooth-running pools suddenly open into great gurgling chasms and you give your paddle a convulsive twist, stabbing air instead of water. Your craft speeds ahead through the raging rapids and down a chute with the power of a thundering stampede of horses. Did you have a sense of dizzy, breathless intoxication?"

And you are correct that he states "I made the trip to Normandy again and, in the mayor's office in Grigneuseville, eagerly copied your genealogy from the brittle pages of the Louvetot Registers." in his story, but if you reread the story, he doesn't once mention the information that he wrote down (other than the death dates of Antoine's parents & uncle).

So while the person that entered Antoine's information on this site and entered a day, month, & year for Antoine's birth there is no PROOF of that information. It's no different that copying information from family trees on or any other genealogy site. He used this "letter" as his reference for the information, but the information clearly isn't contained in the story.

I hope that you can understand my decision to not accept this edit, but I have accepted far too many edits without proof and I am the one paying the price for it when other members are upset that the information is either wrong or not proven. It got to the point that I removed my email address, due to the harassing emails, which I should have passed on to the administrators of Find A Grave.

Please be careful in doing your own genealogy and submitting edits and thoroughly check the references attached to the data that you are copying, as you can now see in this case, there still is no proof of Antoine's actual birth date.

RE: Antoine leduc
I've added the info that I didn't already have on his memorial and have given you credit. Since there aren't any records regarding the birth year and death place town, I've left them as is. Thanks!

Antoine Leduc
Would you please provide references for the edit you submitted for his birth year and death place town? I haven't been able to find any records to verify that the edits are correct. Thanks so much for your help!

RE: Pictures

As you can see, the grave for Sophia is covered with mud and I personally never touch graves. I am hoping that it will wear down over time due to either winter or rain. But at least her name shows through.

If and when I go there, now that winter is coming, I will check their graves every once in a while to see if a better photo can be obtained. Those are from my phone via the app so I may shoot them with my digital cam next time.

RE: george hofmeister
No problem. Would you like me to post the Lillian Rothfuss image even though there is no DOD?

Photo request
Hi Norma,
You have photo request for Lillian Rothfuss at Immanuel Cemetery in Huron County. There is no DOD on her stone. Would you like a photo posted anyway? She is has single flat headstone next to Eli Rothfuss.

Frederick Wurst
Are you relation to Frederick Wurst? His daughter Lydie was my great grandmother. I started working on geneology a couple years ago but am still quite new to it. If you have time, could you email me at
I'm hoping someone with a more experience with this could help me along a little bit. Thanks!
