**** NEWS ALERT****
I have Many Relatives, Close and Distant Whose graves were NOT marked due to no funds (1600's- present )or so long ago that the stones have deteriorated into the earth

Family Traditions and Family Bibles and Death Records Let many of us know where they rest. So just because there is no stone does that mean they Shouldn't be included in family lines?

Come on people a true Genealogist digs to find the lines...and doesn't jump over those very important limbs of many trees just because there is no marker to prove that they lay X <-- here.

Find A Grave gives us an "Unknown" choice for burials or cremations, etc. and if it's a known fact that these people are dead, and they will most likely never be officially linked to any particular burial place, they also have a right to be remembered and to be linked to their other family members.
I will gladly link those who have an unknown status.
That can easily be changed if they are proved to be in any particular place.

I have been an avid cemetery hunter for at least 40+ years, My Mom had us (her children) off gallivanting cemeteries when she started researching my fathers Sutphin clan in the 70's

While growing up many a weekend was spent looking for long lost graveyards and feeling the excitement of finding the final resting place of our relatives..
All of her children when traveling still go through the local phone books for any Sutphin residents..lol

What Mom instilled into us is a gift in my eyes..to remember and honor those before us and never forget where we came from.

Thank you Mom for being my inspiration and my hero, Without your Love, Support, knowledge and patience of my endless supply of question and your roomfull of notebooks and your years of listening to the family histories told to you by so many this Crazy journey would not be possible.

My Lines of research are are Sutphin, Gilmore, Glick, Goads, Nesters, McPeak and all related families in my Beautiful part of Southwest Virginia

My husbands family lines are Armentrout, Argenbright, Blackwell Burns, McGown and Tylers of Rockbridge County Va. and surrounding counties

I happily accept any help ,corrections, new Friends and family members.

We are all on the same quest of finding our forefathers and our kin :)

A lot of the pictures I have posted are newer graves, when I cemetery hunt, I take pictures of all the stones and resting places new and old, that time or weather will allow I never wish to upset any of the families..I simply am trying to save some steps for future genealogist and maybe allow a family member far away to see a picture of their kins final resting place.

Many of the stones I attempt to photo document need a little enhancement to read the names and dates..due to the controversy of shaving creams, chalk and other sources..I use Herbal Choice, an all natural shave cream.

Special thanks to my Find A Grave mates Rita McKale, Ron Stewart, Victoria True, Denise Horton , Rich Kreiss for Your help being a sounding board when I'm frustrated and when I am stuck in a "That can't be right" moments.

A Thank You for his help and patience goes to my Friend Michael Nestor as I attempt to figure out the Goads and Nesters that touch so many of the family lines in My part of Southwest Va.

Thanks goes to my partner in Crime ,My Snake & spider killer ,Bee and Black Bear chaser offer.
My Hubby :)

Donna, thanks for pointing out the 2 graves for him. I do run into this occasionally. The usual result seems to be because of a second marriage after the 1st plot is bought. I don't believe that is the case here. I suggest you phone Sunset and ask them if he is really entombed there or not. They have records. Good luck!
P.S. Should he not be buried in Crab Orchard I suggest you keep the memorial anyway but point out that his body is elsewhere, and then annotate the other f-a-g #. If not, someone else without the facts would add the memorial in again for him. I have done so on his memorial at Sunset.

RE: Sutphin's
Donna,

I guess I should have sent you the rule book first - after 2 it's exponential to the 2nd power - so 49. LOL - Hope you have great luck with them and figure out how they all tie together!!

Best regards,
Keith

Sutphin's
Donna,

Transferred 7 more from the same cemetery - I'm satisfied they're all related. Unfortunately, I don't live there - I took pictures of all of the headstones - a couple of them were so blurry/too dark that I couldn't read them and I don't know if those were Snuffers or Sutphins. Hopefully one day you can check it out as it may be a couple more years before I make it back to that one.

Best regards,
Keith

Regarding my last post, his wife was Lelia Maxine Sumner Felts, but I don't think this is them.

Thanks again!

W.B. Felts
William Benny "W.B." Felts is the husband of Cora Combs. He is buried in the Independence Cemetery in Fancy Gap, Carroll Co., Virginia. The headstone picture is for William W. Sumner and Beulah A. Then there is a metal grave marker for W.B. Felts. Is the grave marker for W.B. the only marker he has? Does the Sumner monument need to be removed from his find a grave page?

Thanks for your help.

SJ Underwood, Fries Cemetery
I found her death certificate on Ancestry.com, and her full name is listed as Susan Jane Underwood. However, the info on the certificate is very sparse. There is no informant listed. I don't have her in my list is Underwoods. Do you know anything else about her?

I am also looking for Noah Irvin/Ervin Underwood, who was buried at the Fries Cemetery in 1932 according to his death certificate. Do you know anything about him?

Thank you.

Hello
Hey Donna,

I live right beside the "Allen Cemetery" in Carroll County. I was wondering if you need any more pictures of the graves there. I know there's been more people buried there in the past few years.

Let me know if I could help out any by sending me an e-mail.

Thanks,
Skyler
