RE: John Edward Altman Peck
Thank you. Granddaddy never told me about his married life. He did tell me he had some mental health issues.

RE: John Edward Altman Peck
I'm sorry, i don't. I thought he was with my grandparents at Oak Hill in Birmingham, but he's not. He was my grandfather's brother. Granddaddy used to tell us what a proficient pianist he was and that he had studied under Prokiev (sp?) He also sweetie that Uncle John Edward wrote the song "It Has to be You," and that he heard him play it for their mother years before it was recorded. He said he showed it to his professor who told him it was "crap" but he went on to sell it himself.

Elizabeth "Betsy" McDaniel Mills #177246402
Hello Dawn!

I was so excited to find the wonderful and informative memorial you created for Thomas Jefferson "Jeff" Mills, 2nd husband of Elizabeth "Betsy" McDaniel, daughter of Granger McDaniel and Mary Margaret "Polly" Bowen.

I hope you won't mind, and will approve, my use of an excerpt of his bio (giving full credit to you for your work) by adding it to the memorial I created for Elizabeth "Betsy".

I have added other information - questioning just who her 1st husband was and when he died - that being David Powell Roberts. When you have time, I would very much like your input regarding the information I have added to her memorial regarding him. It may all be wrong, I'm not sure. I need your discerning opinion, please!

Thank you very kindly!
Best Regards,
Sarah

Hello Dawn--I have added three photos for Anton.
One of them shows four family headstones, but maybe you will want to sort the photos, if you want to. I have submitted an edit for the plot location. Very nice memorial page, you have done lots of good work. Peggy

Alfred Quinton Kennett
This memorial is a delight! The large Kennett family practically owned the Mississippi River from Galena, IL to New Orleans. They were fascinating. Gen. Grant thought they supplied more lead shot pellets to the CSA than any other supplier. They made this shot in the lead belt of Missouri; in the city of Potosi (one of the names of the steamboat lines in the obit you supplied.) They built their own RR from Potosi to St. Louis.
They had unlimited slave labor. Galena was a station on the Underground Railway. The Kennetts paid folks to collect slaves from the Underground. They were taken to the lead mines and shot towers.
I've collected many, many stories and knew about Quinton. It was rather thrilling to read about a Kennett who had many friends and was generally admired.
I just wanted you to know I appreciate your dedication to those we summon back to life.

Duncan and I are 2nd cousins. Cecil Sr and my grandfather, Charles Sr were brothers. We've never met and I do not have a memory of Cecil, just his brother James (Jim). Jim lived with Charles and Vada. Amy keeps the Find A Grave info for Cecil and one aunt, Georgia. She is Cecil's great-grandaughter, I think.

RE: Prell family of Kansas
Hi Dawn,
I am not related to the Prell family, but was at a flea market this weekend and came across a picture of the Prell family. I bought the picture because I can't stand the thought of a family photo not being with the family! It is a wonderful (good size) photo with 3 boys, a man and woman. I "think" it is your sister in laws family. The back of the photo has some writing on it, the reason I bought it. It says, Mr & Mrs Prell, it lists 1 of the boys as Henry Prell and the other boy is listed as Louis Prell, no name on the other boy. Under the name for Mr. & Mrs. Prell it says, "neighbors in Bremen, Kansas to Fred & Alma Harder & Children". Under Henry's name it says, "died young, killed by", nothing more is written. I think this is Friedrich, Sophia & sons, Friedrich, Henry & Louis. In the 1900 census they were neighbors with Fred & Alma Harder. If you are interested, I will be more than glad to send it to you.
