I am a retired high school history teacher, having taught in the public schools of St. Mary's County, Maryland. I am a native of Huntington, Suffolk County, New York.|
I have been interested in visiting old cemeteries since I was a child, when cemetery visiting was a family activity.
I began a project during the American Revolution Bicentennial to update the cemetery lists held by the St. Mary's County Historical Society, Leonardtown, MD. This project, using high school students, extended into the early 1980s. Some cemetery lists were published in the "Maryland-Delaware Genealogist."
I worked with the GenExchange Project adding cemetery data from both Long Island, New York, and Calvert and St. Mary's counties in Southern Maryland. I have also worked with the longislandgenealogy.com site.
I was editor of the "Generator," the quarterly publication of the St. Mary's County Genealogical Society from 1994 to 2014, except for one year. I also served as 2nd Vice President of that organization.
Currently, I'm a member of the Sgt. James H. Harris Camp #38, Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War. We are now in a project to identify & mark graves of the known Union soldiers in St. Mary's & Calvert counties.

HI Dave, thanks for taking the time to do this important research, but I have a question in regard to the William A. Roberts, are you related to the Roberts? I only ask because I am related to the Roberts, I don't know what you know of the family history but William Roberts senior was married to Lucinda Gildersleeve who is the great grand daughter of Richard Gildersleeve, Plymouth, Mass. Bay Colony settler and eventually one of the founders of Hempstead and Huntington, New York. Let me know if you don't mind and again< thanks, Steve Gilzinger
|Kathleen Pierce Bond||RE: Faunce|
Thanks for all you've done for the Faunce family in St Mary's County! Haven't been able to check everyone, but all looks good so far. If this family had just been a tad bit more creative in names we probably wouldn't be having this much trouble.
Thanks again, and will definitely contact you if I find anything.

Thank you so much
|Kate Eakman||William H Ebbitt 24323596 and Christiana Sinclair Ebbitt 24323611|
I wanted to provide some verification that the presumed connection between William Ebbitt and Christiana Sinclair can be found in his obituary (link below) which specifically states that he married Christiana S. Sinclair.
Her date of death matches the information on the transcription of her death certificate here:https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:2WVY-STL
Thank you for your efforts to be accurate in your work! As a fellow historian and former teacher, I appreciate running into someone else who is like-minded! Keep up the good work,

Yes, Susan Irene Brayfield was the mother of Jennie Oliver.
|Susan Howell Denny||Selah B. Howell SR|
Please disregard my previous message.
Apparently there were two Selah B. Howells. They are father and son. Apparently your memorial #25752696 for a Selah H. Howell in Cedar Hill is the father, Selah B. Howell SR. He is the husband of Olivann (Wicks) #25752742. Could you please connect the two of them and add their son, Selah B. Howell JR. who is buried out in Lake Grave, New Village Cemetery # 6382565.
I am referencing A Genealogy of the family of Richard Howell by Thomas H. Donnelly
|Susan Howell Denny||Olivann Wicks Howell|
Please, if you will, connect Olivann(# 25752742) to her husband Selah B. Howell (# 6382565. He is buried at New Village Congregational and she is in Port Jeff. Thanks for connecting my ancestors.:-)- Susan
|Andrew Honeywell||RE: Oliver Brown ?|
If you would not mind transferring him to me, I would appreciate it as I am in the process of building profiles for each of these members of the Brown and Finch Families of North Castle/Greenwich which are my ancestors. Thank you.
