Hello Tammy,

You left flowers and a message "Hello Grandmother" at this site. If Caroline Wilhelmena Christiansen Washburn was your ancestor, can you give me information about who her mother was? Could she possibly have been Ane Christine (Anna Stina) Brink from Forsby, Sweden. And was her father possibly Christian Peter Christiansen?

Carol Wakefield (Christian Peter was my g-g-grandfather)

Richards Washington's Father
Because the issue of the connection to the Lanier family continue to crop up. I think you should know that there is much proof that the Surry Co. John Washington is the Ancestor of the Washington Lanier Line not related to the Westmorland John Washington Line.
“It is now established fact that in addition to te John Washington, who with his brother Lawrence, came to America about 1657 and settled in Westorland County, Virginia [This John is ancestor of of Pres Washington] –there is another John Washington, quite as early f not prior to 1657 who settled in Surry County Virginia. {the Westmorland John Washington] has been fully traced as the great grandfather f George Washington :the Father of his Country.”] * New York Genealogical Society and the Virginia Historical Society in 1915

The article goes on to lay out the proof that john of WEstmorland (ancestor of Pres Washington) and John of Surry Co. were two different people.

Samuel "Tifft" Tefft
Dear Ms Tanner,

I am a descendant of John Tefft (8th g-grandson). We inherited our Tefft family information from a great aunt so am not sure where it came from and we have not done much research on our Tefft lineage. I was in Newport Rhode Island this spring looking for Whitehorn(e)s and did see many Tefft/Tifft gravestones in the cemetery.

John Tefft's 3rd g-granddaughter, Lucretia Tefft (ca 1776-1820) married Clark Whitehorne (1773/1774-1860) on 01 March 1796 in South Kingston RI. Lucretia's lineage back to John is; Daniel Tefft (1743-1818), Stephen Tefft (1716-1782), Samuel Tefft (1685-1860), Samuel Tefft (1643/1644-1724), John Tefft (1614/1615-1679).

Is all of the Tefft information you have at the Find A Grave memorial for Samuel "Tifft" Tefft ( Anything additional you can tell me about the Tefft/Tifft family and sources would be appreciated.

Please contact me directly at

Elizabeth Washington Lanier
Hello Tammy J Tanner & Thank You for your generous service ... please review your documentation regarding the marriage of Elizabeth Washington (daughter of Richard Washington & Elizabeth Jordan), according to the only information that I have been able to locate on her, she married only once to Sampson Lanier, not Thomas Lanier. Can you either email me or else post here where you found the documentation to support a marriage to Thomas Lanier?
I have attached a link that may be of use to you regarding the Washington / Lanier research:

If you learn that your posting is in error, please remember to make the necessary correction, to keep others from re-posting the same error.

Thanking You Again for your generous service,
